I handed in my resignation today as Curator of the Museum of
Stephanie's Mistakes in Life, and Other People's Lost Dreams.

It has taken me 7 trips to the dumpster already...I am not done yet.

Now...on to my own damned dreams without all this baggage holding me back!

2. I went electronic in 1979. All I have to do is click "delete."
But I'm certain it's all backed up in an NSA file somewhere... I can feel the drag.

4. Heh! No, I am talking about other "stuff"
Stuff like computer junk that we thought "would be fixed someday...sometime...but, we can't throw it out because 12 years ago it was 1,000 dollars...."

Stuff like, "I might need this cheap suit bag on a some flight, some day...."

"These sheets are perfectly good, never mind that there is no bed that size in the house anymore."

"These coffee cups were free! Everyone needs coffee cups!"

6. Oh, I can so relate!
Both SO and I are packrats so we sort of feed off each other. Not only that, but he has a tendency to bring home other people's junk as well. :eyes: I need a bigger house just for the junk.

7. I am getting ready to throw out a fan from the thirties
I am tired of trying to pretend like "one day......"

ALL the old textbooks I have been boxing up and lugging around? Fucking gone.

The really neato casserole pot that I was sure I would make beautiful casseroles in in 1995, and it has sat unused? Gone.

And this is only day 1.

And you're going to throw it OUT?!

Good for you! I need to find that kind of ambition.

15. Well, maybe.

But another way to look at it is, maybe my house wouldn't have been knocked down if I had purged like Thtwudbeme is doing. Maybe the storm was mother nature's (god's) way to do some much needed cleanup (like brush fires in the forest, to help the life cycle continue).
