I Hate Moving!!!! (a rant)
What kind of physics-defying process can get a warehouse full of stuff into a two-bedroom condo?
Where did all this crap come from and how is it multiplying? Why do I have a flourescent blue umbrella? Why do I have two pairs of the exact same kind of shoe? How did I get thirteen knives, when the set is only for twelve?

Why are all movers in this area condescending jackasses. I am not a weak little girl who looks kindly upon patronizing losers. Do not call me "missy!" Do not make sexist comments bout my allegedly "girly" apartment. (It's not girly, it's just called clean." :grr:

Why do I run out of everything? I ran out of boxes; then ran out of tape; then had to go back to the store a third time for more bubblewrap! I hate moving!

Moving is excrutiating. I've resorted to stuffing everything I didn't realize I had into a big box for goodwill. I literally have no memory of buying, obtaining, or storing much of this stuff.

/RANT!.

1. Ugh, I feel that pain.
 Especially the bit about being a girl, and therefore obviously unable to move/lift anything. :eyes: Yeah, I actually uttered the phrase "who do you think moved all this shit in here in the first place"

Sorry it's being a headache for you, I hope the move itself goes smoothly

2. I hope so too.
I hauled most of this stuff from the store to this place, so those movers are completely clueless. The only reason I hired them is that I'm too short to lift the couch down four flights of stairs and up into the van.

:grr:

The worst part is that my condo is only half packed. I thought everything would be fine, but there's so much stuff here than I had thought.

Thanks for the good thoughts. :)

5. My new motto: No more stuff!!!
I'm only one person (with three dogs). I have no business having so much stuff! It's like the stuff owns me!

And - while I'm ranting - the dogs have too much stuff too!

4. I've always hated moving too
I actually lived in several different houses growing up. We have lived in our current duplex for 4 years and have wanted our own home. I hope that getting our own home happens somewhat soon, but I will dread packing and hauling all this stuff. Hopefully, this time we will have time to sort and get rid of stuff that we don't really want/need. We are such packrats though.

7. I'm not a packrat; but my mother is.
She's always bringing things to my apartment that I don't want, won't use, or can't stand. I love my mom to death, but I suspect she's the source of much of the extra junk. She's especially prone to buying "As seen on TV" junk in bulk for her kids.

I need to get in the habit of giving stuff away on a regular basis. Too much junk!

6. Moving does suck!
In fact, I've stayed too long at places I didn't like just so I didn't have to move.

You hired movers? I got some help from DUer; and it just cost me some Mexican food and pizzas. No sexist remarks either. :P

8. No sexist remarks from DUers? Not even sexy remarks?
Are you sure they were real DUers? :P

Just kidding.

Actually, I'm in Bumblefuck, Eastern Washington half the year. I'm moving to Seattle for a great new job (hooray). And I get to leave Western Idaho! However, moving is just painful. And I don't know that there are any DUers anywhere near here.

9. Oh, I thought you already lived in Seattle.
:dunce:

I'm envious of your move to Seattle. It's one of my favorite cities.

Parts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho are really pretty, but I've never felt more "watched" that I did in Coeur d'Alene. :creeped out:

10. I spend a lot of time there.
And I'm so excited to be going back!

Hooray for Seattle!

Housing will cause me an arm and a leg! But it's so worth it.
