My *grandmother* just asked me why lesbians "who don't want to have sex
with men" will strap on dildos and "make love to each other like men."

:o

Happy Mother's Day, everyone.

11. This is on the phone.
We were discussing her lesbian cousin's lifelong partnership, which is very sweet, but then she just started in with "but what I don't understand...and I think you can answer this because nothing shocks you..."

(I answered similarly to a suggestion downthread -- that the sensation could be pleasurable regardless, but if you aren't attracted to men, you wouldn't want to do it with a man. I was *thisclose* to giving a pegging analogy, but decided against it.)

That's hilarious/awesome.
My grandma would NEVER have said something like that. Well, maybe later when she got Alzheimer's...

9. I'd die if I heard my grandmother say "dildo"
Of course, both my grandmothers are dead but should they choose to haunt me I'd hope they'd not ask about lesbians' choices of sex toys. :hide:

14. My brother brought his room mate to thanksgiving dinner a couple of years
ago. My grandmother gave him a christmas card with an oiled up stud on the front with some salacious message about 'unwrapping gifts' inside.

Took us about a day to figure out the wire-crossing.

17. Bwahahahahaha
You've got to give her a lot of credit for asking though. Good to hear that she still has an inquiring mind at her age. Still wants to be enlightened, informed. Go granny!

19. hmmm
you have to remember that grandmothers now were younger women in the 1960s. That might account for it. It's not like women their age never thought about sex. ;)

that's very funny, nonetheless. Good for "grandma" for being upfront, if somewhat uninformed.

21. Hm...she was born in 1927, so yeah, she would have been in her 30s
through most of the 60s.

What possessed her to ask me this question, I don't know.
