Incredible prank on Ottawa Mayor
My favorite local alt-paper has pulled off something hilarious and horrifying. They called the Mayor of Ottawa--pretending to be the Mayor of Buffalo--and offered to have the Sabres 'throw' their NHL playoff series against the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Ottawa sending some tech jobs down to economically depressed Buffalo. The amazing thing is that the Ottawa mayor seems to totally go for the deal.

Sounds unbelievable, but the Globe and Mail printed an article about it. And there are recordings along with the original piece. There's a first chapter to the story in which they call Buffalo's mayor as the Ottawa mayor and propose a wife-swap, but the game-rigging second part is the real jaw-dropper.
