Yes, I post my share of "Cletus and Brandine" threads. Yes, I think they're both idiots. But this kid is gonna get HURT if Spears doesn't WISE UP, and FAST. I don't know how the hell ANYONE could defend this kind of behavior.

Britney Spears was caught yet again yesterday driving with her infant son in an unsafe position. The New York Post says:

"After causing an international uproar by driving with her infant unsecured in her lap, Spears, sporting curlers in her hair, is snapped here driving in Malibu with the baby strapped in the back seat - but facing the wrong way. Babies under 20 pounds or less than a year old should have their car seats facing backward, according to California motor-vehicle codes, and 8-month-old Sean Preston is facing forward as Spears rolls along in her Mini Cooper with its top down."

1. The seat is also tilted too far forward and not buckled properly.
On an unrelated note, she makes that tiny car look huge.

3. That's a Britax Marathon, it rear-faces to 33 lbs
and due to it's very high back (once forward facing it's good to 65 lbs harnessed, it's a very large seat to accomodate such large kids) many kids can rear face in it until they are two or three. There is absolutely no reason a child under one should ever be forward facing but it's especially galling to see a very good seat like that misused so badly.

ALso it would appear that the harness is applied very losely, if it were snug and the chest clip were in it's proper spot (level with the armpits) the child would not be dangling so. It looks like it may have been lose enough for him to get his arms out of the shoulder straps, as they don't appear to be on at all.

9. Holy shit.
SOMEbody went to Carseat 101. Yale? Are you Skull and Bones?

Oh, wait...hold on...I didn't initially realize that I was posting in response to an actual mom that took very good and proper care of her kid.

Congrats, love, you've bettered Mrs. Whatshername. Please collect your case of Turtle Wax and our version of the home game on your way out.

12. We all have our quirks
One of mine is that in a quick glance at a car I can tell you the make, model and weight limits on nearly any carseat sold in the US and some overseas models.

I shudder to think what the hell I'm to do with the wax for the home game. :scared:

A sort of Tears in Heaven for the trailer trash set.

6. He deserves a hell of a lot better.
Seriously. The authorities need to treat her like any other parent behaving in a similar manner.

7. I completely agree.
After the kid's nanny let him fall out of the high chair and she was caught holding him while driving, she should have been charged with something.

11. Sunburn, windburn, dust in eyes, ears and nose...
Risk of ejection in an accident, sudden swerve or panic stop. Just a few blatent dangers that pop out at me.

No one who cares about their child would be doing any of this.
