8. I find them boring and uninspired.
I was being facetious though, mostly. Rabrrrrr and I were discussing our dislike for his films, which is presumably why someone posted the stickies.

I have to admit I haven't seen all of them but I did like Apollo 13 and A Beautiful Mind but he's far from my favorite director, that would be Scrocese. Aha now I see it.

20. Three of them, actually.
Two are still up on the top of the page.

His films are nothing more than your average Hollywood blockbuster type, I can never find anything special about them, despite the usual hype.

35. I'm still mad about the Cat in the Hat and The Grinch
I blame his Hollywood whiz-kid partner more than him, I forget his name. They should have been embarrassed to make those films.

I did like Apollo 13, though. Didn't he make that?

But even so, it didn't leave much of an impression on me from an artistic point of view.

It wasn't an artsy story. It was gritty life or death.

I fell right into that. :-)

He's no Scorcese or Polanski, but he's no Michael Bay, either. I think he makes decent entertainment..."Cinderella Man" is a perfect example.

32. No one rivals Michael Bay as a recipient of my hatred relating to film.
Edited on Wed May-17-06 04:54 PM by primate1
As for Ron Howard: Decent entertainment, sure, but not my cup o' tea. When I see his name attatched to direct a film, I can be almost certain that it's not going to appeal to me. Like I said before, his direction just seems uninspired to me, and usually results in your average Hollywood blockbuster type of movie. But this is a guy who has won a best director Oscar. I won't even complain about who he beat out for the award, just so I don't sound like the disgrunteled fanboy that I am. :P

Just irritates me that he's viewed as some kind of great director, when he's mediocre at best. Why oh why was I cursed with this snobbishness?

The earmuff look just isn't good; and it looks even worse when he wears that goddamn baseball cap to cover his baldspot.

Hey - Ron - it's not interesting, and it's not a "statement" or "your style" to wear that damn ball cap!
