Why must I "buy blue"?
They are just as corporate, which means they only care about the color green.

2. I have to agree with you.
I shop at walmart. I'm not going to apologize because I'm poor. I can buy twice as many groceries there as I can at an independent store for the same price.

3. And these days I'm restraining myself to necessities.
They want capitalism, yet when they deprive people of capital, which in turn allows them to capitalize on capital goods... it gets difficult.

And I am not anti-capitalist. It's just when someone gets so much power, it's not a good thing. Kinda hard to be a Libertarian, support what's going on, and then say "I like capitalism just so long as those with more money don't trample on the rights of those who don't." (talk about idiots...)

5. There you are--buying blue is both morally correct -and- slimming
There's no downside!

8. Excuse me, but nutritional food is more expensive than junk.
So your theory there is wrong.

11. Exactly! You are forced to buy fewer, higher quality products!
Therefore you lose weight and raise your general health at the same time! The perfect system. What's better than being morally superior with a diminutive posterior?

Because I really don't care what either of those groups think about me.

14. The hell it is.
I've saved a ton of money since I gave up bullshit sodium-and-fat-laden convenience foods and started cooking healthy food for myself. But even if your assertion were correct, is saving a few pennies worth the health problems you'll encounter down the line from a diet of rubbish?

23. I said I was eating better....
But if I go to a more expensive place, I can't buy as much healthy food. It's worth spending more...but not so much more that I can't buy enough for the week if I go to the more expensive place just because it's an independent.

4. I'd rather give my money to someone who supports "the good guys"
if I can help it. I know it doesn't do much in the grand scheme of things and sometimes you have no choice but to buy from a "red company". For instance I'd rather give my hard earned cash to Boston Beer Company who makes such fine products as Sam Adams and is solidly blue than Anheuser Busch who is red and produces shitty beer

6. doesn't really bother me where I shop
Edited on Wed May-17-06 06:29 PM by JohnKleeb
If the place happens to be "blue" so I do it same thing with "red". I don't have much money being a student so I try to shop at what's most affordable and has the best quality. Understand your point about money but that's what everything is about when it comes down to it sadly.

20. I don't necessarily buy blue but I do try to buy local.
I prefer to buy local whenever I can. I know I'm giving support to the people that I attend church with, chat up at the PTO meetings, etc.

I buy local when I have the money and they have the product needed. At least I know exactly where my money is going to-usually to the clothes on their childrens backs and the food on their tables.
