Good Thursday Morning, Crew!

:donut::hi:
Welcome to the Thursday edition of the Early Morning Crew thread! :bounce: I hope you had an easy Hump Day! Mine certainly was full. On our way to the groomers yesterday morning, Tony had a "number 2" accident in the back of our Wrangler! Jeezuz it STANK! x( :vomit: I had to pull over at a gas station and clean it out, of course, before I could continue on or I was going to puke. We finally made it there and now he has a cute haircut that you really MUST see! :woohoo: Pictures are forthcoming! :bounce:

I had an item I needed to return to Best Buy, so I made a B.B. run and picked up a copy of Roxio's Easy Media Creator Suite 8! And can't get the damned thing to install properly. I spent the rest of the late afternoon and early evening working with their tech support to get done correctly with no results. I'm still waiting on an e-mail from to tell me what to do next. The damned software was $100...and I can't even get it to install! Of course, once you break the seal on software or a music CD, it's yours to keep, so I guess I'm stuck until I can get some resolution from Roxio. I hate this. x(

I'm still collecting photos for our Early Morning Crew montague! SO far, I've received pictures from: Billyskank, Miss Buffy, Cannikin, Hissyspit, Miss Joan, Miss Honey, Mrs.G, Miss Mutley, Random_Australian, Miss Seattle, Starbucks and Swimboy! Thank you everyone! I still need pictures from the rest of you, so if you have one...please post it! We'd ALL like to see it! :bounce:

Ready to get this day started? I hope so because...here we go! :bounce:

39. I actually think that we need to go further
and adopt the practice of Arabic and Hebrew putting various types of glottal-stops into speach - thus the word should become v'tamin. :P

Either that, or you should pronounce the second "i" in the same way as the first. :P

6. Good morning Clint.
:hi:

Sounds like you had some "fun" - I have to confess that's one major reason why I don't have any pets, nor am likely to have any.

Ironic choice of music ;) - I'm on Shostakovich this morning, I had his fourth symphony earlier which is pretty mind-blowing and was at the time highly controversial and withdrawn for fear of the Soviet authorities. At the moment I'm on his 1st piano concerto, probably follow that with his second and then his 'cello concerti. :bounce:

Having a pet is a wonderful thing, Man. They are a LOT of company and dogs are VERY loving. But, they DO take care and need a lot of your attention. Puppies can have an accident (just like a small child) anytime and it's just something you have to deal with. I knew, going into it, that I'd have things like that that I'd have to take care of. It's OK.

So I'm STILL waiting for a picture from you, Mister!

As it would involve talking about ladies' intimates. :P

Ghoti isn't a real word, it's an illustration of pronunciation irregularity.

Pronounced either as 'fish' or as '...'

Gh as in laugh, o as in women, ti as in nation.

or

gh as in night, o as in people, t as in ballet, and i as in business.

I kicked buttock in psychology today. I know all about the scientific method, you see, and that is what today was all about. It was great.

12. Good morning, Clintmax
Here's a slightly out of focus picture of me, but I think it's the best one I've got handy.

Yesterday was pretty good for me. I've got this entire week off before I start my new job on Monday. I got a call from the recruiter from the new company yesterday and she told me all the stuff that I need to bring with me for orientation and training. I have to go about 270 miles up the road to company headquarters for orientation then it's off to Georgia for training.

Other than that I just pigged out all day yesterday and watched a few ball games. I hope you are having a good morning so far.

61. I am fine
the weather is a bit depressing but other than that I can't complain. Had a nice chat with M. yesterday evening we both enjoyed. He is happy that he gets out of the job he is in right now and he is happy that I look for a job in London.

"... anyway, its very happy to hear that you have been applying for jobs here in london, i feel good knowing that finally we'll be together forever soon.
but hey, if you dont find a job that would really make you happy here then dont get upset or sad, i should be making enough money to help support you until you finally get the right job that'll make you happy while you're here.. feel me?"

Isn't that a sweet offer? Not that I will take up to it as I want to depend on myself. Not on him.

Salad, with cheese (white-stilton with abricots), home-made soup (cream of celeriac), accompanied by black coffee and milk to drink. :9

Clintmax, I sympathize with you about the software. I hate buying software only to have it mess up or just not even install correctly. :banghead: Like you said, once that seal is broke you're stuck with it and I've always thought that was wrong because of situations like yours.:grr:

Can't wait to see Tony's new haircut. I'll bet that's cute.:applause:

Have a good day everyone because after today there is only one more day.:bounce:

I understand WHY you can't return opened software and things, but it makes it hard to be satisfied with the manufacturer and the store. HAve a great day, Man! :bounce:

77. Good morning, Clintmax!
:donut: :hi:

Wow, that was an interesting trip to the groomers! :scared: I've never had a pet do that in the car ... knock on wood. That must've been really terrible! :puke:

I hope you can get your Roxio working. It sucks when you buy software and can't get it installed. That was the story of my life when I first got my laptop (and it was supposed to come with all the goodies installed). Frustrating. :banghead:

I worked my fingers to the bone yesterday, literally! A fingernail got caught on something and tore off past where it's supposed to. Now my whole finger is sore. And my hands are swollen from doing too much ... I THINK that's why they're swollen. Can't imagine any other reason. I made good progress, though. And our realtor called to tell me things are still on track. :D

No pic yet, but I'll try to get one to you.

Good Morning, Miss Airmens!
:hi::hug:
It's good to see you this morning! I was hoping I'd see you before I had to leave for work! :bounce: Yes, the trip to the groomers wasn't any too fun, but it's over now and Tony is adorable in his new haircut! I can't wait for you to see it! :bounce:

OUCH! I'm sorry you hurt your hands that way! Sounds painful as hells! At the VERY least, you got a lot done. You can be proud of THAT. I'm glad things are still on track...it's getting close you know!

Whenever you CAN post your picture is OK...I know you have lots going on right now!:loveya:

just so I could see you. :loveya:  I'd go NUTS with all this going on and no morning crew!

I'm waiting for the new Tony pics -- I bet he is adorable! :bounce:

Yesterday I got my hair cut, so at least I'm not so unkempt now. I might take a few more breaks today and maybe get the camera out ... if I can still find it. :D

It's really strange about moving. I'm excited and all that, but I feel like I'm on the verge of crying all the time. Maybe it's just the exhaustion. I am NOT looking forward to living apart from harleydad for however long it ends up being. The longest we've been away from each other in 30 years is three weeks, and that was when I was visiting my sister and mom.

ALL of you. Thanks for that. :loveya:  You're a sweetie yourself. :loveya: I hope it doesn't look like I'm dissing everyone, especially in the evenings, when I'm not around. I'm just too tired by then ... and am still on the PC, which is not as convenient as the laptop. :(

We're still hoping that harleydad's bosses change their minds and let him work remotely. We'll just have to wait it out. And I'm glad harleykid will be there. She's really excited about us going up and she plans on trading moving help back and forth (they're building a house, too).

I'm trying to get all the packing done early so I can rest for at least a few days before we have to make that long drive. I'm DREADING that! I get to take the minivan with all the cats in it and harleydad is going to drive my Mustang. (How did I agree to that?) Right now we're looking for some hand-held CB radios for when we get in the mountains and our cell phones don't work.

I'm rambling ...

You've got LOTS on your mind. Driving the van with all the cats is going to be an interesting adventure, I'm sure. Tony came to Florida from Missouri on a plane, so I'm not sure how he'd be in a car for 16 hours.

157. Our vet gave us a homeopathic remedy
that we have to start giving them 3 days before the trip. It's to relax them, without drugs. They LOVE taking remedies b/c we put them in a bit of baby food diluted with water ("gravy"). We bought them new traveling carriers and Sabrina has been sleeping in one of them. So that's a good thing. They do better in the minivan than the Mustang, probably b/c the Mustang is a convertible and is a bit noisier.

Our dog, Sundance, was a great traveler. The cats we used to have were pretty bad, but they settled down after about 30 minutes when we drove down here from NY. If Tony doesn't puke in the car now, he probably would be OK for most trips ... assuming he poops first.

Well, thanks for letting me babble on. You're right about LOTS on my mind.

I just made a lengthy (rant) post in GD after a looong time.

Sorry to hear about your Roxio (I have a 3 year old version of Easy CD creator that works just fine). Trust these guys to add some fake 'features' as a pretext to double the price and release a new 'version' :spank:

Also, software return policy is really crappy and plain unfair to the buyer. x( x(

88. Good morning Clintmax!
Sorry about your puppy accident and the roxio, I wonder what the problem is? The older versions always installed perfectly for me. However, here at work we use Nero and since the last upgrade from them, NOTHING works. I've had to switch to memory stick's in order to back up the system until I can get this under control. I wish you well with that and a speedy conclusion to it!

I will get a picture in a day or two, well maybe this weekend anyway.

I won't know what I'm drinking until after my doctor's appointment on Monday. It seems as if he added a little test to my blood work that I wasn't aware of. Now my doctor is freakin' out over my elevated sugar level. I was pretty darned upset after I got the letter about it last Saturday. Luckily one of my close DU friends pointed out that I'm not swimming in glucose = 178 isn't terribly bad. I think I'll just need to cut out complex carbohydrates. x( I love southern-style potato salad.

Bottom line ~ I threatened to return a very expensive laptop. Then I let Dell solve the problem to my satisfaction. It seems like all computers are changing over to the express slot. The salesman's mistake worked out in my favor.

IF I hadn't gone to the trouble of taking my old Dell in for show_and_tell it wouldn't have made me so mad. I actually got more money back from Dell than I spent for the USB Interface Adapter with shipping.

The sales tech at Cingular told me that he doesn't know when they will be making an air-card for the express slot. Dell told me that Verizon will be coming out with one on around a month. Dell seems to think that Cingular won't be far behind. Once again technology is ahead of the communications about it.

Couldn't get my internet up yesterday to save my soul. It'll do that once in a while, and it's so frustrating. So much so, that I just left for work extra early.

The rain has finally stopped and the sun is expected to make a showing. I sure hope that they are right. This is getting depressing!

Thank gawd it cleared up long enough for us to go rowing last night. Ah, and what fun that was. I just love being on the river. Been rowing in an eight this season. Typically I row a four, so this is taking a little getting used to. But the challenge is welcomed of course.
