i'm retired now. i'm actually still considered an "expert witness" in narcotics and substance abuse, so you can believe me when i say "I NEED DRUGS!!"


APOLOGIA: i was young, it was a government-sponsored party, & i got to have lots of adventures. i actually worked deep-cover w/ some very bad people; "sons of the gypsy outlaw" & "boneshaker MC" motorcycle gangs; distributors of Reagan's cocaine industry. i bought as many illegal/stolen guns as i did drugs, pound-for-pound. i even took down a St. Louis detective that was selling guns out of the evidence lockers and "intelligence" reports to the gangs.

i did *NOT* bust everyday users or people going about their business and smoking a little pot. mo marajuana arrests at all, actually. i was typically high on "speedball" (heroin/cocaine mixed & mainlined) while on the job. you don't "fake" shooting up w/ a bunch of hard-ass bikers (and i'm not talking some "warriors" who wear leather on the weekend).

i've since (after 20 years of federal LE) re-appraised the "War on Drugs"(tm).

yes, i actually use drugs occasionally. herb, mostly, but ketamine is fun, too. and i feel no guilt about what i did then, or now.

Played around with the idea of doing a story on local MCs a few years back. Got close to some Outlaws and a few others. And, yeah, you don't fuck around with those people. They'll feed you to the gators.

I have a long, colorful history with drug use myself, but I've never gotten involved in the trade. Given the jaw-dropping mandatory minimums, it never seemed like a particularly good idea.
