I feel like I have come home after a long sojurn in the wilderness

Within 5 minutes of leaving the hotel to get food I happened upon a Trader Joe's, and it was filled with MY PEOPLE.

Liberals of every size, shape, age, and color.

I was not exposed to any white supremacist beliefs, and I was not sneered at for wearing a ratty ball cap.

The people here look educated, tolerant, and content.

And they don't look like those nasty hippies in Arcata either.

2. I just got here around noon

I went to a park and watched some baby red-shouldered hawks for a while, then came to the hotel.

I didn't sleep too good last night, so I considered taking a nap, but I think I will just make an early evening of it instead.

I camped out last night, and really managed to creep myself out! :o I blame the fact that I was camped in Kern County, but I was completely convinced that someone was going to murder me in my sleep. :P
