2. Batting opposite throwing isn't that unusual.
I throw right, but though I was a switch hitter, I preferred to bat left.

4. Oh it is actually
hitting right and throwing lefty is normal but throwing lefty and hitting righty is totally rare. Only a handful of hitters in MLB history have done that. The most famous of which was Rickey Henderson.

Never knew that throw right / bat left was common, but not the opposite.

8. Yeah I didnt know it was odd when I played but I researched it
I think I would have made a much better hitter if I had hitted lefty from the start because I tried switching when I was 11 but because I was so entrenched hitting righty I never adjusted and with that went my possibly high school baseball career.

There's only one set of twins in my whole family that I know of and they look identical but like all twins they have personality differences. My "twin" tonight did something I never did *knock on wood*, poor little guy broke his arm riding his bike, he's at the hospital now with my folks.

Edited on Sat May-20-06 08:43 PM by fight4my3sons
Not sure if I worded it correctly. We have no twins anywhere in our family except for our guys - they are identical. We were told that fraternal is hereditary, but identical is just a freak thing.

Hope the little guy is ok

31. Either I'm very unusual or you all aren't
because I share a number of things in common with people in this thread.

My little sister is 16 years younger than me but I often call her my "mini me" because she looks just like me except that she has straight hair and alot of red highlights.

I use to be ambidextrous but my first grade teacher would walk around with a red marker and write an F on anybody's paper if she saw them using their left hand so I got out of the habit of using it. I still do alot with my left hand through and prefer to write on a chalkboard with it. My brother had a similar experience with a teacher at a different school. He use to be left handed until he broke his arm a month before his 8th birthday.

My shoulders are uneven. I use to have a school nurse that was convinced I had scoliosis because of it and after a few years my doctor had to send her a letter saying to relax with all the demands that I see a professional because I went to the doctor every year and my doctor was better qualified than the school nurse to determine that I was fine.

62. Three unusual things about me:
1. I have a birthmark on the inner aspect of my left arm; it looks like a Cocker Spaniel...

2. I am a little ambidextrous....I wash my face with my left hand, I thread a needle likewise, and I can write left-handed. I was left-handed unti I was five years old, and apparently switched spontaneously.

3. I suffered some brain damage at or around my birth. It takes me longer than most people to learn how to do things with my hands. Once I "get" it, then I'm fine....

That's all I can think of at the present time. :hi:

63. Mostly to do with age for some reason
1. Been married three times and each was younger than the previous one.

2. Started teaching for the first time at age 46 and discovered I was a natural.

3. Started movie "acting" last year at age 60 - worked on 5 or six movies. Rob Lowe/Julia Ormond (Miniseries on right now), Anne Heche (Did a Karaoke scene with her), The BTK Killer movie, Two Tom Selleck movies, October 1970 (Canadian FLQ movie) and a few other bit parts. Only small parts, a line or two here & there, but man does it pay well!!!
Start a new one next week.
Turn 61 next month.

3b. Also have eaten at a soup kitchen by necessity and taught at University in the same year (Long story)

Well, not really. I've got all I can handle with two.

Anyway,

1. I dress formal for work everyday, even though it isn't required.

2. I won't eat food that isn't properly presented. Example; if a clubhouse sandwich is cut in half instead of in quarters. I always ask the waitress how it comes before I order. If she says, "But we can cut it in quarters for you"... I still won't order it.

3. I can bend my elbows the opposite way, so much that I can hold my arms straight out and touch the insides of my forearms together from the wrist all the way up..

•I read my first words at 17 months.

66. 3 things
1. I have a bachelors degree but neither of my parents graduated from high school
2. I beat up a guy who was 11 inches taller than me. (it was an uppercut) :spank:
3. When I played hockey, I could play every position. My best position was left wing, but I shot right-handed. Right-handed left wings are only common in Europe.

I was a magician's assistant once (complete with bunny) and an amateur clown for a while (Yes, I know magician secrets, and I'm not bound by any code not to tell, either )
I was in the United States Air Force Reserve for a total of three days. Three days too many, my husband (ex-AF) says.
I raised fancy rats for thirteen years.

70. I'm an horrifically normal person
But, I can read three different alphabets, I used to be able to read Hebrew as well and runic script, but they're forgotten now, I want to learn Arabic and Malayalam which would add two more.

I can read music in 6 different clefs.

I'm entitled to free entry to Westminster Abbey.
