Hypothetical Battle: Giant Megalodon Vs US Aircraft carrier
I would make this a poll but alass I'm not a donator. Okay here is the visual.

Okay who do you think would win this?

Aircraft carriers are about 1100 ft, the shark is likely about 400-500 feet.

The Carrier itself is slow and difficult to maneuver however would be capable of launching dozens of patrol helicopters and jets. It's made out of thick steel plated alloy, and is a boat built for war.

The Shark is playing home field here though. Biologically evolved to dominate the waters the shark and submerge and this baby is likely able to reach speeds of 30-40 mph. It's jaw diameter is likely 40+ feet with teeth as long as your leg. However due to it's immense size and the understood neural impulse time of life it too would have a pretty slow reaction time.

Who do you think has got this one? State and defend your answer.

1. Did that creature actually exist?
If so, then my vote goes to the carrier.

2. The Megalodon was, apparently, about 65 feet long...
(and even the largest estimates of its size only went to 100 feet, and those are now considered inaccurate)

A Nimitz-class carrier would turn it into shark jelly. (1100 feet, 104000 tons displacement at full load, and still capable of something like 34 knots...that much mass moving that fast meets flesh and cartilage, the result would not be pretty)

3. Agreed
Yea I know they were only about that size, but this is a hypothetical battle, we could give the shark Titanium teeth and a jetpack if need be. I just found the picture and wondered who win, a shark of that size or the carrier.
