1. Gimme an example
There are three news cycles per day, on weekdays — a.m., p.m. and overnight. Many agencies, particularly our gummint, plan the release of certain news to fit into — or not — one of the cycles.

I could get a better gauge on it if I knew a specific story you're talking about, or the context in which it was said.

Gotta be first, first, first... :eyes:

See, the WH et al know that the PM cycle is at 4 p.m. or whenever, so they'll release info after 3, just in time for that one. Apparently Truthout went with what they had much earlier, and more info was released later that would've made the story clearer, and likely more accurate.

Another reason newspapers still have an edge.
