The ONLY thing I didn't like about that book was a guy being named "Lude". Otherwise, the book was terribly hypnotic. Imagine having to bring a survival kit on an exploration of your own house. One of the parts I loved the most was how they kept measuring, and how the inside of the house was a half-inch bigger than the outside of the house. The sense of disbelief at first. Also I liked the famous people weighing in.

Great book though. The story itself is creepy as hell, and the the experimental typography and such was really neat as well.

Breakfast cereal: rarely eat it these days, but favor very high-fiber stuff (got Trader Joe's organic flax cereal in my cupboard now)

Book(s): Too many to choose, from "The Great Gatsby" to "Blue Highways" to more airplane-reading material by the likes of James Patterson, Stevie King, Dean Koontz, etc, etc

Movie(s): Way too many to choose from, including the one that gave me this name

Song(s): Even more way too many to choose from, from bunches of songs by greats like Elvis, the Beatles, Creedence, James Brown, Jackie Wilson, Ray Charles, and Johnny Cash to whole genres like Delta Blues and black gospel to dubious wonders like "Disco Duck" and "Convoy"...

Place: Several...where I'm from originally and some of the places in which I've done a lot of work (in my primary career) leap to mind. Nowadays, a place I find myself wanting to be is wherever is the person I referred to in the "person" question above... :loveya:

Sport to play: never been a big team player, and most of my outdoor activities (most of which I refuse to classify as 'sports') are solo or nearly so...used to like playing basketball, softball, soccer, and sometimes volleyball, among others.

Favorite fast food restaurant: for chain hamburgers in the West I tend to favor In-n-Out and Fatburger; Del Taco is a favorite (better-for-you, relatively, fast food) and Taco Bell offers a few decent choices, especially for road travels. I like Subway but I don't really tend to think of it and similar (Blimpie, Port O Subs, etc) as 'fast food.' Used to like Chik-fil-A when I lived in the South.

Dogs or cats? Cats

Scary movies or comedies? Comedies

Short or long hair? On me? Longer, rather than shorter (never had a crew cut, never want one). On my girlfriend: no preference. On anyone, in general: no preference.

Kissing or hugging? Depends who it is. Both, with the right person. Kissing can be as 'good' as sex, sometimes, pretty much... :D

In the past 48 hours have you -

Watched a movie? Watched a lot of movies in the past 48 hours...from memory: Smoke Signals, Hurricane, Hoosiers, Cool Hand Luke, Wilde, Heist, Casino, Mountains of the Moon, and The Terminal. Maybe one or two others.

Talked on the phone? Yes

Cried? Not sure..not in the last 24 hours, anyway

Threw up? No

Drank a glass of water? Yes. And gallons of orange juice.

Read a book or magazine? No

Watched TV? No...just the movies above, on a TV

Taken a shower? Yes

Taken a picture? No

Kissed someone? No

Told someone you loved them? No, but they told me, and I wrote it to them...and I sure think it enough... :-)
