When you have to fart real bad you go up to another guy and say, "Pull my finger." Then you rip one off. Always gets a laugh. My dad used to do it to me and my brothers. We'd yell "Gross!" and run outta the room.

I'm no prude, not by any means. But my father-in-law is one of the old guys that think this is hysterical. I've never found the slightest bit of humor in it, and I, too, don't get it. I asked him to pull mine, then peed on his shoes. For some reason he didn't think THAT was funny.

Takes all kinds, I guess.

(I didn't really. But I wish I had!)

..or "pull my finger" jokes in general?

Because my "pull my finger" captions jokes are basically making fun of anybody who would utter the phrase.

But growing up, I remember it being used mostly by old blue-collar working men (fathers of friends of mine), who after imbibing too much cheap beer, would use it as an excuse to let one rip. Thereby causing embarrassment to the "puller" and not themselves.
