1. Simpsons
Personal preference, really. I grew up with the Simpsons so I have fond associations with the show.

Not that I dislike Family Guy. I think it's a hilarious show, but overall think it lacks "depth". Perhaps such randomness and lack of depth is a logical extension of the Simpson's style though...

2. The Simpsons.
I like Family Guy, but I literally grew up on The Simpsons. God, I can't believe I've been watching that show for 18 years. :o

3. I'll always love the Simpsons
but Family Guy has Stewie, and damn but I love Stewie. Episodes that are all Stewie/Brian are just the funniest.

4. I've been dissapointed in Family Guy as of late.
Sadly, South Park's episodes "Cartoon Wars Pts. 1 and 2" hit the nail on the head with how Family Guy is degenerating into unfunny bilge. Episodes of Family Guy used to have a plot, instead of revolving around the pointless jokes, which have become increasingly more annoying. Plus, there was that lame-ass "season finale" last night, which was just a replaying of the Family Guy movie that came out in October. If Seth MacFarland doesn't get his act together, Family Guy's going to be cancelled AGAIN.
I originally though the Simpsons was going downhill, but Matt Groening seems to have put the spark of life back into it, which I'm grateful for.

9. Older Classic Simpsons over newer Family Guy
Some of the best stuff ever on TV....

Newer ones, not so much...I haven't been really impressed with the Simpsons in some time. It still has some funny episodes here and there, but there hasn't been a consistantly funny season in a while now. It's really weird and sad to say, but I no longer wait for new Simpsons episodes the way I used to. I still remember the late nineties simpsons, x-files block. That was great.

I agree with the criticisms of Family Guy. The stuff is very random and makes little 'sense' but it gets a laugh out of me. I thought the SP parody was funny too (the first episode), but SP rarely makes me laugh the way Family Guy does.
