Poll question: What's your favorite Chocolate?
Edited on Wed Dec-10-03 05:00 PM by corarose
We use to buy Frango Mints, Fanny Mae's, Godiva's and Swiss Colony.

My Dog ate Chocolates and he never died off of them and his favorite was Fanny Mae's. I love Frango Mints myself.

What's your favorite commercial Chocolate?

On edit: Adding website (http://www.milka.de/home/home.html)

Had it in Germany a LOT, brought back a ton but it only lasted a few weeks. :(

7. They sell it here!
I've seen Milka in ethnic shops here (Milwaukee is heavily German). I've also seen an occasional bar at -- Target.

For like four times what it costs in Germany, of course.

13. It's so good!
Yes, I'll see it at expensive grocery stores here in Minnesota from time to time.

For like four times what it costs in Germany, of course.

Naturally. The reason I ate so much of it over there was they'd put it on sale for a mark (~ $.65 at the time). Those were the days.

22. I have a friend who will not eat chocolate
Becuase of cocoa bean slavery on the Ivory Coast. It's children, by the way, so i guess that disturbed her. I've tried to tell her that surely not all chocolate is made on the Ivory Coast, she contends that you just can't be sure, so she'd given chocolate up altogether, though I imagine as the holidays draw nearer she'll find it harder.

27. Harbor Sweets, made by a small company in Salem, MA.
You can go on tours of the place, which I haven't had a chance to do as yet, and I think employees can eat all the chocolate they want (if I remember correctly). The candy is really good, but it kept getting more and more expensive so my mother doesn't buy me any for Christmas any more. :-( A lot of the candy has nautical themes, either the shape of the piece of candy or embossed on the candy.

29. I voted Cadburry (sp?), cause I love those
Cadburry Cream Eggs at Easter, and the Fruit and Nut Bars. But Kraft bought them out and now I'm uneasy when I enjoy them.

Also love chocolate covered cherries that are sold at Christmas.

My REAL fav, though is genuine Belgian Chocolate - hard to get here.

32. Swiss Colony?
Wow! haven't thought about them in a long time. Used to have one in our mall, and I'd go there and get those soft centered/candy shelled michigan cherries and sour apple candies. Yummy!!

They left that mall a long time ago. I figured the company had gone under.

But I didn't vote for their chocolate. I went Cadburry (however the hell it's spelled). But only the ones that actually come from England - that is, someone in England buys it, and brings it here for me. Much better than the version they make for the US.

33. We use to order $400.00 dollars worth because they would give your credit
You would pay them $25.00 bucks a month and huge boxes would arrive at your house.
They had some good Pumpkin Butter, Peach Butter and things like that. They also had chocolate covered raspberries which were so good.

34. Chocolate from Watson's or Condrells in Buffalo, New York
And Platters from Niagara Falls.

You haven't tasted chocolate till you've tasted chocolate from Buffalo, NY. The rest just stinks. Including the one's you've mentioned.

You haven't lived till you've tasted chocolate from Buffalo.

Same for Hawaiian Chocolate - made from cocoa beans grown in Hawaii - No Ka Oi!

So far, I think that "Lindt" they advertise on TV lately is the absolute WORST - very salty and cheap tasting. Perfectly horrible krap.
