Anyone have any friends that are Holier then Thou?
I know this one lady that thinks that she knows everything about any subject in the world.

If you have a cold she knows how to fix it. If you owe a debt she knows about how to take care of it. If something breaks she knows exactly what is wrong with it. If someone is sick she knows what's wrong with them. Etc, Etc, Etc, Etc.
She goes to Church so that makes her godlier then you are and she is on her way to heaven because she puts more money in the basket.

If someone is trying to overcome a tragedy in their live she has worked for a Doctor or knows someone that is a Doctor and she can prescribe the treatment that you need.

This one women in my bldg. thinks that she knows everything and everything and she butts into peoples business because she can. She sits in the waiting room in the lobby waiting to give advice and mess in other peoples life's and I feel sorry for her.

I stopped by and gave her food one day and then I met her the lady that gives advice and knows everything about the entire building.

Does she give the advice because she can or is she destroying people while she is going it on purpose?

Who knows she is a very sad individual that the whole bldg. knows about.

If you are not around she talks behind your back and gives advice to people that know you in the bldg and it pisses people off.

4. I know people like that.
I wouldn't call them friends, though, since I go out of my way to avoid them. I don't bother with know-it-alls. In fact, the older I get, the more I don't bother with. I'm not the kind of person who minds being alone, so I get to be picky about who I spend time with. It's great.

5. As you walk by she says Jesus Loves You
:puke:

I hate the type of people who think that they are Doctors and can tell people that they know an aliment that a person has because get this their friend of a friend is a Doctor and that's how they know about the treatment.

6. Sing this little song to her:
Jesus loves me, this is true.
He loves me, but he don't love you.

7. She says Jesus loves you? Ask her how she knows....
When she says "it's in the bible" tell her the bible is an anthology of a little bit of history and poetry and a whole lot of mythology and dogma and the opressive, anti-woman laws of an ancient nomadic peoples, and why does she think it has any logical or realistic bearing whatsoever on real life in the 21st century -- especially yours?

That oughta shut her up.

12. I hate that so damn bad it make me what to say
F*ck you b*tch at times and ask her how the hell do you know that Jesus exists in this world.

When you walk past homeless people and you don't have any cash to give them some of the guys downtown here says Jesus Loves You and I can't take it anymore.

I have handed the men that don't say that to me the little bit of cash that I have on me because they didn't want to lay a guilt trip on me.

My Sister told her one day that she is a Wiccan and the woman freaked out.

11. I had some woman come up to me on the street the other day
and tell me that she was going to pray for me. I told her that my life was great and not to bother. I would just end up making fun of the person, or just blatantly ignoring her. If somebody said to me Jesus Love You, I'd probably say, yeah, I know, he told me the other night, but I'm aborting the baby anyway. You just can't let the know-it-alls get to you. They're a dime a dozen and not worth bothering with.

8. I have a holier-than-thou freeper neighbor
It's gotten to where I can't even stand looking at him any more. If he's there when I get home I drive around the block so I don't have to talk to him.

He is so fucking sanctimonious it drives me nuts -- he is just so full of himself, and keeps trying to get me to "see the light" at every possible opportunity.

There's no point even trying to reason with the man.
GRRRRRR.

9. Don't even try to fight her or reason with her.
Be polite and ask her advice once in a while. That will keep her from saying bad things about you to others.
Also, be prepared to run into her. Always have a reason not to stop and chat.
This advice is from a know-it-all who is a know-it-all because of letting people like that woman control me for too long before figuring out how best to deal with them.

10. Sounds like a know-it-all
Edited on Wed Dec-10-03 05:34 PM by NRK
except for the churchy part. Seems like she's competing. I'd guess it's coming from low self-esteem, a desire to be "needed", so you get all the advice you never asked for. Kinda sad, really. If you think of her attempts to change you as a cry for attention, they might not be so annoying.

(Of course, by posting this, I'm playing armchair psychologist, which isn't much different from armchair doctor.)

On the other hand, she's part of a religion that tells its followers to convert people and heal the sick. So maybe that's where it's coming from. When she says, "Jesus loves you", you can just reply, "This I know," and keep walking.

14. She will say my Son knows a Doctor and I can tell you
That you need this or that for your bad back, etc.

When I come in with my books and bags I am in pain as I pass her. I want to come in the other way but I would have to walk through my Alley and when its dark that gets a bit scary at times.
