3. But it's opening on 6-6-6!!
Aren't you scared? :)

It does look lame...but then I'm a huge fan of the original and I think it should be a rule of Hollywood that you can not remake any movie which starred Gregory Peck.

So based on that rule, I guess they can remake Omen II, III and IV. But I doubt they could top of the cheesiness of Omen IV: The Awakening.

5. I liked Omen III: The Final Conflict
All the fundies in my highschool thought it was great because Sam Neil (the antichrist) has his presidential ass kicked by Jaysus...

"Grandeur of melancholy, divinity of loneliness, God doesn't lift a finger to do any housework."

"If Abraham was ready to slay his own son for the love of his God, why won't you do the same for the love of mine?"

"And out of the Angel Isle he shall bring forth the Deliverer; the holy Lamb of God who shall do battle with the beast. And shall destroy him. Only it won't be the beast that is destroyed, it'll be the Nazarene."

"Nazarine, you have won......nothing!"

That's some heavy theologin' there! Can you believe it only took two people to write it?!

7. That was a good one!
The whole crucifix with the backwards Jesus.

I didn't know only 2 people wrote it though...that's pretty amazing.

I thought I thru III were all good. I saw the first Omen in high school and it scared the bejebus out of me. Didn't help we were late to the show and had to sit in the VERY FRONT ROW!

8. I'll tell you what freaked me out:
The scenes in the first one with the nanny hanging herself at the birthday party... "It's all for you, Damien! It's all for you-u-u!!"

And the scene in the sequel where the doctor gets killed in the elevator. Mostly because you think the fall is going to kill him, and then *WHAM* it's that safety cable.

4. The glut of remakes shows Hollywood's out of ideas..
I mean, seriously, movie adaptations of "Dukes of Hazzard", "Starsky and Hutch", "Charlie's Angels", "Bewitched", etc. etc. etc. It seems Hollywood won't greenlight anything that's original or creative, all movies must follow a pre-determined formula for whatever genre they may be.

6. How can they be?
If Gregory Peck isn't in it, it can't be good.
