8.  "Grope," I know. "Grep," I had to google.

And this is what I got:

"GNU grep is based on a fast lazy-state deterministic matcher (about twice as fast as the standard Unix grep) hybridized with a Boyer-Moore-Gosper search for a fixed string that eliminates impossible text from being considered by the full regexp match without having to look at every character."

And now my brain hurts.

Are you sure you didn't mean "grope"? 'Cuz if you did, it would make things a lot easier.

11. Nope, I did mean grep. Not grope.
You wanted a query, and if I want to find something in a file on my linx box, I often 'grep' for it. Like you 'googled' for 'grep' :)

There'd be some weird comments and my wife would look at me funny if I groped.

Mark.

When _I_ was a baby my mother at times gave me gripewater, as she did with my sister.

But when my son was very young we didn't give him any gripewater.

30. She was great.

The office where I interned at the time looked right over the back alley to the theatre where different acts performed, and I always got a good view of various entertainers getting out of their limousines. I would hang out the window and wave to them and sometimes they would wave back. What struck me about Joan is that she didn't get out of a limo... she got out of a yellow cab. It was actually pretty ingenious because everybody (all the fans hanging out at the end of the alley entrance) was looking for her in a limo, and she snuck right through in the cab.

41. Dancin' in the Moonlight

We get it on most every night
When that moon is big and bright
It's a supernatural delight
Everybody's dancing in the moonlight

Everybody here is out of sight
They don't bark and they don't bite
They keep things loose, they keep it light
Everybody's dancing in the moonlight

Dancing in the moonlight
Everybody's feeling warm and bright
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's dancing in the moonlight

We like our fun and we never fight
You can't dance and stay uptight
It's a supernatural delight
Everybody was dancing in the moonlight

Dancing in the moonlight
Everybody's feeling warm and bright
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's dancing in the moonlight

We get it on most every night
And when that moon is big and bright
It's a supernatural delight
Everybody's dancing in the moonlight

It's such a fine and natural sight

Okay. So. "When a difficult time faces you, what do you instinctively do?"

I'll have to go with meditate on that one. And you?

"And do you often change your mind after the logical part has taken over?"

I'm having a little problem with the setup of this question, because it presumes there IS a logical part of my mind.

Or not. Well, maybe...

...the "logic"part of my brain is substantially lacking. I think somehow you scored all the logic that I was supposed to get; you certainly have more than your fair share, math guru. :)

Okay, enough trying to be funny, DA.

In response to what I think what you were seriously asking... when it comes down to making an important life-altering decision, I gather all the information I can and then meditate on it a long time, until I feel I have found the answer in my heart... whether that answer is the most "logical" answer or not. And then I follow my heart. Following my heart is the only way I know how to live without regrets. Pain, yes, that is inevitable. But not regret, because I will always have done what my heart told me was right instead of what someone else told me was right.

Should I send this limerick to my local Friendly Police Officer (tm)?

In the name of the law, you say STOP!
You think the law's noble; you're a cop.
But the law set Kissinger free for ever more,
so to me it would seem that the law is a whore,
who sells herself where presidents shop.

Did you write it?

Re: sending it to the cop... hmmm... I think it might get the better recognition it deserves in another venue. Perhaps a local coffee shop poetry reading?

(Coffee, though... no donuts, or you'll run into that cop thing again.)

Good job!

75. Mmmmmmm...... appreciation......
Yeah, I wrote it. Glad you like it. Maybe I'll read it in a cafe somewhere (there aren't any close by, but I can find one somewhere), and then go back and nail a copy to the door of the local Chief of Police. I could use tape to avoid property damage, but nails seem to be the door-applicative medium of choice for noncatholic subversives. ^^

76. Oooooh, tape or nails? Tough choice.

Tape avoids property damage, but is perfect for leaving fingerprints.

Nails inflict property damage, but leave no fingerprints.

Hmm. How about sending it tied to a rock thrown through an open window?

And for the last round. I like blues and greens--although yellow looks good on my kayaks!

(Please note the subject IS a query) ;)

78. Sadly, yes. 'Tis true, I am a query whore.

Any questions?
