I just went to a concert, and my parents don't know!!! Ask me anything!
 It wasn't anything like an all out rock 'n' roll sexfest.

It was a band concert!

I completely forgot. My guy friend (Woot!) said he'd pick me up. And he did!!! What a great guy!

Everything went smooth. I squeaked here and there, but nothing too major. And it rocked!

And I got home before my parental units.

3. We did good....
I squeaked, and there was some confusion with songs... But we rocked!

We played as the entertainment for an awards ceremony!

And, since it was a Hawaiian theme, he gave me his lei because I only had an ugly shirt! :)

19. i feel your pain
i played clarinet for a year, before switching to oboe. Oboes don't really squeek, but i spent enough time around single-reeds to understand

11. Why didn't you tell your parents about it?
One of my kids had a jazz band performance today, too. Last one of the year. You like the sax? Tenor or alto or bari? Prolly not bari...

Oops...that's three questions...

16. I love the bari!
It's my big baby.

The concert came up this morning and there was no way to reach my parents. It was weird. But, oh well.

13. My going to a concert without the parents knowing...
Right after I graduated HS, my friend calls me up to inform me there's a free concert at a park in Boston with They Might Be Giants, Suzanne Vega, and Patti Smith, the next day. I'd already seen Suzanne Vega (she's good) and I didn't care about TMBG, but I would have killed to see Patti Smith. Seeing as how, I'm in NJ, I thought it'd be ridiculous to go. The next morning, I called him up and said, "wanna go to Boston?"

Half an hour later, I was picking him up. Five hours later, we're in Boston. Patti Smith was absolutely fucking amazing. When the concert was over, we turned around and drove home. I got home around 3am. My dad asked, "where were you? You were gone all day." I replied, "Boston." He said, "oh okay" and left it at that.

About a week later, he walked up to me and said, "umm...you really went to Boston, didn't you?"
"Yeah."
"Why?"
"Patti Smith."
"Good reason." And he left it at that.

I was, however, familar with Patti Smith.

25. The thing is, with saxophones....
You can't. It's either you or the mouthpiece. Or the saxophone itself.

Found out this morning that my saxophone had a minor screw loose. I could fix that myself! Thank goodness!
