I'm adopting a dog this week!
Her name is Gracie. We'd planned on adopting a dog at some point, but wanted to wait until our kids were a little older. So when I got the call from my mom about Gracie, I was hesitant at first. She belongs to my aunt in Michigan, and she is moving into an apartment that doesn't allow pets. My mom is visiting her there now. When she told me how good she was with children, and how sweet she was, I thought about it. Then, today, they brought in the big guns and actually sent me her picture:


There was no way I could say no after that. So, my mom is bringing her back to Tennessee this week.

2. I'm a cat person, too, but I like little dogs.
Breeds like Chihuahuas, Poms, and Min-Pins. Gracie's a Yorki, and not much bigger than my mom's Chihuahua. I can't wait to meet her. :hi:

I think they'll love it, too. My older son has wanted a dog for some time. They love playing with my mom's dogs when we visit, two Chihuahuas and a Pug.

4. Within the family, we have several cats and two dogs,
and everytime we're going for a walk together, people are astonished that we're not only walking the dogs, but all the cats too along with the dogs. Here's one of the dogs, my sister's Samoyed, with sunglasses ...

We have one cat, and he's been the only pet his whole life of 6 years. It will be an adjustment for him, I think :)
