She wants him to rot in prison. And die. (She's a fundie and a dedicated Repub.)
I disagreed. Prisons should only be for violent offenders.
I think he should pay restitution

"Destroying people's hopes and dreams, ruining their futures? You don't call that violence?" She has a point.

So what do you guys and gals think?

Khash.

1. Make him pay (literally and figuratively) through the nose.
For everything. I don't care how this justice is enacted, as long as it is for the fuckwad.

:grr:

I kind of agree with both of you.
He definitely should pay restitution but that is not enough. He should be put away so that he does not have a chance to perpetrate more frauds. If the only penalty were restitution, that would not be much of a deterrent. It would mean that a person would lose only what he gained from the fraud. He deserves to lose much more than that.

5. He Should pay restitution and serve time.
He committed crimes and in the sum that he stole it was a felony. He should have to sell all his houses, jets, boats and what not and give his employees their funds back in full, plus the interest it would have gained since Enron failed.

7. I'm with your mother.
There is an element of punishment which has to be present, I don't personally see why white-collar crime should be any different.

11. There is certainly a nice cushy minimum security country club prison
where he can spend a few years thinking about what he's done all the while his fortunes can be returned to the people he stole them from. After he gets out he deserves a job in data procession for $7.50 an hour and be forced to contribute the maximum to his 401(k) in the hopes that his employer doesn't STEAL it!! (Oh, and Linda can keep selling antiques :eyes:)

13. I hope he rots in hell.
Big-time jail time, restitution, all of the above.
Lay's a big-time scum bag and he deserves every evil thing he is about to get.
