I am staying home for the holiday, anybody else doing the same.
I hate the traffic and the crowds, going to stay home and have a bbq for some friends.

1. Yep
Except for going out to dinner tonight to a neighborhood place we've never been to before, we're staying home and catching up on household chores. Would love to ride over to Red River and look at mountains, but this isn't the time for it. I plan to read some of the (too) many library books I have out. Mr 'pede can work on his radio controlled model sail boat.

The traffic , crowds and (now) gas prices are keeping me

22. If by home, you mean the house
we are packing up in prep for our move out on next Wednesday, then yes, I am. We're moving cross country (I've straddled Austin and Seattle for nearly five years) and this time it's permanent! No more Austin. All Seattle, all the time! Insert happy dance, albeit somewhat exhausted, here.

24. Seattle, I would love to move there, but I have land here and a good
job. I have a Aunt I have be near, just stuff going on.

I hate to move, I still have boxes I haven't open when I moved to this house.

I lived in Austin for a few years, I loved it but every time I tried to move back it never worked out.

I heard that Seattle is bike friendly city, that I would love.

40. Bike friendly, pedestrian friendly
Liberal friendly to the point that I once read an article that said Republicans feel "marginalized" there. Of course, Republicans can feel "marginalized" over any slight, real or imagined.

36. It was tough fighting back the tears during the ceremony
Of course I am proud of her. That goes without question.
She has an apt up there now, so I am truly an empty nester.

I did not know she was not coming home until very recently, so
I am missing her very much.

of community college.

She moved to another state to finish her last two years, the house was very empty without her.

31. Nothing wrong with that
Sounds relaxing, which is what holidays are for :)

We're going to spend the day with old friends on the other side of the mountain who have a hoedown and a hootinanny planned. I've been invited to sing and pick but I'm so out of practice

Talked to my old Cherokee bass player tonight to see who might show up to jam and that got me psyched. He's one of those bass players who kicks back and closes his eyes and goes with the musical flow....so I'm looking forward to a melodic day.

I have to do a tribute to my son's Ranger buddies at some point, and just thinking about that made me weep while driving tonight. Maybe if I cry now I'll be cool and collected on Monday.

have a good holiday all :patriot:

33. Well, it seems like native Minnesotans all have....
old "up north" family cabins and they started leaving yesterday.

However, we aren't natives (so we don't have a cabin, darn it) and I don't like enjoying nature with a crowd, so the inmates of this zoo are hangin' around town. The good news is that we'll practically have the place to ourselves...:-)

Have a lovely, relaxing weekend, Texanwitch!

Today (5/27) I attended a birthday party at my niece's house. Her son and the daughter of a friend both turned 7. I got to toss batting practice for the kids who attended the party. I had a good time. The food was great!!!!
