Until recently, I had no idea that men grew hair out of.......
their nose. I'm not talking about their nostrils, but rather the actual outer nose and tip of nose area.

Really gives me the hee-bee-jee-bee's (may not be actual spelling.)

To all the men on DU, please keep that region tidy. I generally refrain from telling others how or what to do with their hair, but it's very hard for other people to keep their eyes off the nose hair, making us all uncomfortable. I know you can't help it that it's there to begin with, but it is a easily correctable thing. The fact that I don't notice it very often means that most men do actually tidy up the area - and for that I am appreciative.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

5. Well, just for the record not EVERY man gets hair there
In fact the only time I've seen it was on some pleasnt old chap who was about a thousand years old and quite out of it. Very cheerful fella though.

I;m in my mid 30s and I don't think any of my friends have this condition-I think it might be like a unibrow--not unheard of, but not super-common either.

8. I pray you are not afflicted one day.
You'll know it when you see it. Whoa Nelly has a good description below. It looks like little spikes coming out of the nose.

9. I don't seem to be very hairy
I'm kind of a blond (in Minnesota I have brown hair in other parts of the country people call me blond!) and that usually goes with fine/thin hair. I didn't even get the nostril stuff until I was older than 30, my moustache ends don't connect with the rest of my beard, etc.

If I do get hair sproutin' out the front of my nose it is SOOOOOOO gettin' shaved off!

6. Met a guy through a friend -- had hair on nose like spikes!
Kinda dated...one blind date/meetup, and the nest a few days later to go to the movies...

Anyway, he had black hairs like whisker spikes growing out all over his nose, especially the tip. (It was...ummm...a bit disconcerting to look at). He showed up at my house, and instead of being ready to go out, he plopped himself in a chair and asked if I had any ham in the refrig. Ok..."why?", I ask. He said he wanted a ham sandwich right now and he'd wait until I fixed it for him.

Didn't go see the show...kicked his ass to the curb and then some (verbally AND showed him the door :rofl )

Now, if I see a hairy-tipped nose, I just move right along x(

17. Well that's just plain disgusting
And what if there are bu--- muchussy stuff stuck on there? What if it falls in your food when they are passing it to you? What if you are kissing and it falls in your mouth? :puke:

And why do you have any hesitancy about telling them what to do with their hair? They tell us all the time we've gotta shave our legs and armpits.

This is infinitely more disgusting. Ewe, and it grows in their ears too :P

Edited on Sat May-27-06 11:07 PM by JVS
the temptation to pull (not too hard) on pit hair would be strong indeed.

19. Oh my; How Rude!!!!
Excuse me, but some of us MUST have Pit and Extremity hair in order to survive the harshness of winter. Now you wouldn't expect me to pull (not too hard) on your Scrot... would you? Uh-Uh-Ah! No.... You need that, as it regulates the tempature of your, Pe...you know.

We need our Pit and Leg hair to keep us warm. So there! :P

PS- I hope you realize I REALLY am kidding! :-)

20. Hubby has one hair that grows on the tip of his nose,
but it's so wiry it's like fishing line. He has me pluck it regularly, 'cause it makes him crosseyed when it's there.
