When you get married, keep a shotgun on hand in case the DJ plays the chicken dance.

20. I suppose setting a big pile of money on fire is part of what's expected
you know, the whole ritual ordeal.

The most extravagant that I've seen so far, probably aren't all that extravagant by the standards of the wider world.

There's the size of the hall, and the quality of the food that are the main variables that I see.

Halls for receptions have ranged from the huge University Ball Room, to an overcrowded room at the Knights of Columbus.

Food has ranged from lavish hot buffets, served up by people in puffy hats, to cold cuts, buns, and potato salad.

DJs get to eat too.

I was promised shrimp.

I have yet to see shrimp.

21. That's pretty cool!
What kind of music do they play out there in NE? Anyone break out the classic rock? Some Elton John at the weddings? (I guess I'm whoring for "Your Song" right now... :D)

22. We've all the classic rock that's good for dancing.
We have Elton, singing Your Song, though that's not yet been requested of me.

There's probably more pop country that gets requested here, than elsewhere.

Polka's big, so we usually play two or three polka hits, so people can dance to that.

Then there's disco, 80s rock, slow dance ballads, and the silly songs.

It's amazing how much they all want to dance to the same big wedding reception song hits like YMCA, Celebration, and the others mentioned above.

25. I'm not sure if "Celebrate" has been played at every reception I've done,
but I think it has.

Like The Electric Slide and YMCA, it's a standard.

No one's asked about the the light show, and special effects.

The sound system is only half of what we plug in.

26. how about Polka?
seems every wedding i've been to, they break out The Five Finger Polka or The Beer Barrel Polka to get the old folks out there.

now that we got the stupid music question out of the way...

ever do a stoner wedding?

ever hook up with a drunk bridesmaid? or brides mother?

ever seen a dollar dance that had no takers?

27. Polka's big, so we usually play two or three polka hits, so people can...
polka.

No full blown stoner weddings, though some crowds seemed more groovy than others.

One requested something by Green Day, for their special song.

So far no hookups, though I've certainly had a lot of very drunk women leaning in to make their requests.

I've seen some "dollar dances" with few takers, but none with no takers.

The one last weekend went on forever, and required many songs.
