It felt good to get carded. When was the last time you were?
At my old age (30) it felt really good when I got carded last night.
I know that some bars/clubs have a policy to card everyone who looks under 100, but I could tell that last night's carding was kinda authentic.

1. Never have been.
and I've been drinking in pubs and buying alcohol since I was about 16.

Getting carded in the U.K. would really be a massive insult most of the time.

2. Authentic? For Drinks?
I don't think I've been selectively carded since shortly after my 21st birthday. My beard and balding head give me away. If I looked the way I did at 25 but was underage they would have let me drink anyway out of sheer pity.

I had show my ID to prove my age (at liquor store). 'Course it was because I asked for the senior's discount.

6. A couple weeks ago for cigarettes.
I'm 23, but I get carded for cigarettes constantly, especially since they just bumped the smoking age in NJ up to 19. Oddly enough, I haven't been carded for alcohol in about six months. I was carded buying a beer at Giants stadium. I blame the Jets fans, whose shining stupidity keeps getting Giants fans punished.

9. Aside from at the Pick n Save where they card literally everybody
I seem to get carded in Vegas every time I go (last time was 2004; I'd just turned 29). I've probably been asked a few times here, since.

I don't think I look much younger than my age, but everyone else does.

10. Early eighties.
My wife used to get carded into her early 30's regularly. She always looked young for her age.

12. Never
I guess I looked older than I was because I had no problem buying alcohol as a teenager so I've never been carded for alcohol but I have been carded while buying spray paint. California is wierd.

13. the last time I got carded was over 5 months ago for a
freakin bottle of nyquil. I'm 32 years old. I recently quit smoking, and no drinking (prego) and it didn't matter I'd always get carded for either.

14. At a bar, always. At a liquor store, always. At grocery, never.
I'm turning 30 in two weeks, but I easily could pass for 20. The grocery store clerk always just asks "Are you over 21?" The honor system I guess.

but I don't think it's authentic in my case. The last time was probably several months ago.

20. Lots of places here card EVERYONE
so it's not really a big deal. I know the woman at the MLCC (liquor store), she recognizes me after years of patronage, and she knows my name, but she still cards me.

23. Only every single time I buy beer.
It does get annoying after a while but I'm used to it. Although it seems only when I'm in California do I get carded more frequently than I do when I'm in other states.

However, when I was 32 and just starting to teach at a new college, I went to the treasurer's office to cash a check, and the clerk asked for my student I.D. :-)

25. Two months ago at a 7/11. For cigarettes.
And I'm 49!
I asked the 20 yr old clerk if she was serious. She told me "You can never be too sure". She wouldnt sell me smokes unless I showed my ID. I must look at least 45.
Smart girl.

A friend of mine and I went out for a drink after a performance, and the kid who was waiting our table carded me. I thanked him profusely.

31. I think I've always been carded
But I'm only 22 and I rarely ever buy drinks. I was given a student discount at the movie theater tonight, though; despite the fact that I'm not a student and didn't request a student discount! So that was cool if not particularly a compliment since there are plenty of 22 year old students.

It may have something to do with my informing the waitstaff that they will get a bigger tip if they card me.

the waitress apologized PROFUSELY that she was required to check our IDs. Being a smart ass I told her, "We don't mind, it's worse that you apologized for it." She got all flustered.

37. Congrats!
It's been since I was in my mid-30s, about 8 years ago. I don't go many places where I would actually be carded, but that was the last time I remember.

I did have a Victoria's Secret employee tell me there was absolutely no way I could be as old as I am! :D She checked ID for my credit card, and she did a double-take. That was Christmas 2005. :woohoo: I thanked her profusely and told her that it really was possible, but that she made my year! I saw her checking people out when I was shopping, and I didn't notice her say anything like that to other customers, so I think she was sincere. :D
