Homosexuals, if a 'cure' for being gay were found would you take it?

This is an X-Men 3 inspired thread

I hate even the IDEA! Like being gay is a disease or something. x( :grr::mad:

I am what I am and those who don't like it can stick that right up their arses.

It's far too deeply an engrained part of me how could one know what else would be affected by the "cure".

The hurt, the loneliness, the anguish, the verbal abuse, been lucky enough to avoid physical abuse for 16 years but at the cost of being isolated, the taunting... I'm a broken man. Caused by a "society" that claims to cherish "individuality" and "freedom". Seems to be freedom to hurt individuals.

It's all games. Doesn't matter where, even gay men have a "standard", which leads to some sad stereotypes too. Don't meet the appearance and it's no different than the treatment bestowed by heteros. Oh, I've been hurt... by people who oughtn't have been laughing. And no doubt these same people would want me to fight and die for their cause. To risk jail or death in fighting for a cause (any cause) selflessly requires respect toward the people you're dying for. And I can not respect people who wantonly hurt others. (I'm also now struggling to not wander into an obvious tangent that some 70% of the public would agree on.)

And I want to be glued back before I get my eternal peace. I want some amount of acceptance. And love. I want to understand and experience what so many take for granted. And the only way to change that is to start at the core. Myself.

And I long for the day when we'll just call "gay people"..."people". Labeling them really gets to me.

If they simply found a way to change sexual polarity to bisexual, hah more oppertunities. I think you'd find a ton of takers for that one.

You'll have twice as many people finding reasons to reject you.
