5. Go and get your frigging shinebox
God that sounds awful. I am glad I bought the special edition of Goodfellas lat year. It's really good especially the commentary with the real Henry Hill and the FBI agent who busted him.

They'll put a violent movie like that on basic cable...
but they'll bleep out all the profanity, as if that's the worst thing in the movie. Either air it uncut or don't friggen air it at all!

11. I'm personally fine with violent movies.
I enjoy the good ones, but yeah the bleeping thing really gets to me, especially if they're showing the movie at 2am or something. At 2am, it's pretty much only adults or teens awake and I think we can all handle some profanity.

15. I don't mind them either...
but I find it funny that it's the profanity that will scar the children not all the pistol whipping that occurs in that movie

18. My parents allowed me to see violent movies w/profanity as a kid.
The only scars my parents caused came from them, not what I watched on tv. Sure I can curse like a drunken motherfucker, but I turned out non-violent.

20. Yeah, I saw "Full Metal Jacket" when I was in 1st grade or something.
My dad was watching me for the night, we had one tv in the apartment and so we watched it together. It's one of my favorite movies now.

13. There is ONE legitimately good line in RoadHouse
When the old man tells Dalton, after 'screening' him to rent his barn:

Dalton: "I'll pay you, if it will keep you in the good graces of the church."

Old Man: "Funny how money will do just that very thing." :D

21. I like it when it's a war movie - the soldiers are such gentlemen!
and the scenes go something like:

"Eat my hot led you poo-heads! oh sheepdip, you got me! oh criminey… I can’t move my cotton-pickin’ legs! Oh frankenfurters, my flippin' guts are hanging out all over the gal-dang place over here. Drat!"

because just because you're in a war and everybody's killing everybody else doesn't give you an excuse to curse.

22. No joke.....I have seen that movie at least 30 times.
From beginning to end. Everytime I see it on I feel compelled to stop.

Same with The Color Purple. I think they would have to be my 2 all-time favorite movies.

23. Mother Father Chinese Dentist!!
Is how the Mr. Show guys put it in their skit about Goodfellas being on basic cable. (It was "Pallies" in their skit.)

That sucks that it's on tnt. It sucks more that I'll still watch it because I will watch a Martin Scorsese movie any time it's on. Even that crappy one with whatshernuts in it.
