made my partner do a spit-take on the windshield

we went to the usual round of errands/shopping this morning.

as is our usual route we drove past some train tracks. The Ringling Brothers circus is in town, so the train cars were all parked there.

my partner tells me that they walked the elephants from the train area up to the arena and the local fire departments were on hand to hose down the elephants during that walk because it was a hot day.

then she says "I wonder who had to clean up after the elephants"

I didn't miss a beat... "Same people who always have to clean up after elephants -- THE DEMOCRATS"
