I Just got a Weird Phone Call from the Defense Department
Has anyone else received a call like this??

I have Privacy Director and the person who stated his name said "this is Westridge for the Department of Defense". Well, I am not about to answer that call, so I rejected it. This is the 4th time they have called and I have rejected it as a Sales Reject everytime. Can't they get the hint???

..the little suckers are cleaver, aren't they?

I don't even answer my home phone...most of the time it is unplugged in the morning hours (since I work nights and need to sleep). I wouldn't even have it if I didn't need it for my security system.

Anybody who needs to reach me, does so on my cell.

7. Is one of your acquaintences applying for a DoD job?
They may have been trying to do a background check for a security clearance for someone you know.

12. I'm with you Sufi.
Calls like this could actually serve a valid purpose - if it means getting someone a job.
I thought I was being called back the other day when I received some mail from the DoD, but it turned out to be a questionnaire on behalf of a bud who had applied for a job.

Be brave, and answer it next time.

9. Could be a recruiter?
I used to get calls that were identified as DoD or US Government...seems like there was one other one...when my oldest son was a senior.

Maybe that's it?

11. I think it's a scam.
Someone using DoD to get in to you. Personally, I wouldn't even pick up on it.

13. Probably someone needs security clearance.
I went through this stuff when my friend went into Army Intelligence (oxymoron, I know...at least, he's very intelligent and VERY against the war). It was a very thorough check. He even needed the middle names of everyone he ever worked for.
