Have you ever made your child a sandwich with moldy bread
and just cut off the moldy part? It's not poison or anything, and I thought everyone had done it at some time or other. But now my 60+ year old sister is all pissy because she remembers our mother doing it to her!

1. No, I never have, and never would, because....

2. I don't have kids, but I'd never do it.
I'm relatively fanatical about food though. If I did have kids, I'd never feed them something I wouldn't eat and I wouldn't cut mold off bread for myself.

5. Depends on the degree of mold coverage.
I plot out a graph of the bread, and calculate the exact area of the bread affected by the mold, then multiply that by the weight of mold, forming a ratio to the weight of the bread. If that ratio is under one, I don't worry about it.

Although usually I just pinch off the moldy spot and make the sandwich.

6. I don't have kids but I don't think I would do that
I would not make a sandwich for myself like that so I doubt I would do it to anyone else

7. I'll cut off mold, except on rye: don't want ergot. But it's for me.
