Welcome to the Monday edition of the Early Morning Crew thread! :bounce: I hope you had a fantastic weekend and got to relax and have some fun! I had to work both days, but I'm off today and tomorrow so I guess, technically, these are MY weekend.

Greekspeak and I met AirmensMom and HarleyDad on Saturday morning for breakfast! :bounce: They are moving to Tennessee and came through Tallahassee on their way up there! It was SO nice to meet them and we had a great time eating and talking! :bounce: Yes, we took some pictures but my stupid camera didn't save them and so when I got home to upload them to my computer, not a single one remained! x( Boy, was I pissed about THAT! I've GOT to go get a new camera...like today. Any suggestions? Miss Airmens wanted me to let you know that they made it up to Tennessee in one piece with their four cats who, by the way, are absolutely gorgeous animals! Now begins the construction odyssey for them! She'll be back online with us as soon as she can get internet service and a computer that will actually boot up. Her Dell is is a major pain.

And so here we are at Monday. The beginning of another work week! Are you ready? I hope so because it's here whether we like it or not! :rofl: So let's get this week started! It's time to rise and shine, my crew! :bounce:

Yes, Tony (my dog) thought it would be a great idea if I got up at 4:45 this morning instead of five! :rofl: So, yes...I'm a little earlier than usual! Did you have a good weekend?

I had a very good week-end thanks. The weather was mostly gorgeous (still is and I'm stuck here :grr:) - had a family lunch yesterday for my brother-in-law's birthday, which was all most jolly, especially as we could eat in my parents' garden - I much prefer eating outside.

I love to do that too! I worked all weekend long but it wasn't too busy either day, so it wasn't a difficult time. I'm glad to hear the weather is holding for you! The only bad part is looking outside when you're inside and seeing that it's so nice out there and you can't be out there playing!

My office looks out over a garden too - it makes for a beautiful view, but also means that I'd much rather be out there and in here. x(

Do you have any plans for your days off?

Do some cleaning in this crazy apartment. I really need to go get a new digital camera, so I'm going to Best Buy today to look at them.

I've borrowed one a couple of times from friends - but I think that I could do with one. I've got practically no idea what all of the numbers and bits and things mean though...:eyes:

The one that's most important is the mega pixels. The higher the number, the better the pictures. I think the the highest I've seen so far is 8.0 MP. My old camera (and the one that didn't work) is an old 1.0 MP. :rofl: Anything above 4.0 MP is really good.

Made less than no sense at all - I think that I'll go into one and have a chat with one of their people.

They can help make sense out of all the numbers. I'm going to do the same thing today. :bounce:

I might get a call today regarding one job. They had an ad posted on Craigslist, and I sent them my resume a week ago. :hi:

I was walking my dog today in the woods across the street from my house and saw a baby racoon.

It was so cute, my dog didn't know what it was.

Baby raccoons are SO cute! You have to be careful with them though...they have teeth that are crazy sharp and you wouldn't want to get bitten by one of them!

mama racoon. I saw the the teeth, the baby had attitude.

They are cute and scary at the same time. I'm glad you left. Mama raccoon was around close I'm sure. :scared:

Yes I live inner city, wildlife everywhere.

came along, lots of area for the wildlife to make a living.

Over in Memorial Park I have heard about bobcats, I believe it because that park is huge.

That's kinda cool acutally. Too bad we have to encroach on their territory all the time. The poor things.

what used to be country. The animals are coming up the bayous, Buffalo Bayou runs thur Memorial Park.

We have hawks and owls, I love watching the hawks fly.

We had such a great place here, until the damn townhouses. What a flood we will have next time, the one we had almost 5 years ago was bad enough. Now with so much of the open spaces going, we are deep trouble.

It's happening all over the country, you know.

I should call them chipboard houses because that is what they are, crap built townhouses.

The inner loop is a major flood zone, our old neighborhoods were built to live with the bayous.

The freakin chipboard townhouses are having a flooding problem. AWWWW! :rofl:

I have been inside the townhouses, little tiny rooms.

It may sound mean that I am glad that they are having flooding problems but it isn't like the bayou is hid from sight.

You just can't take out the floodplain and then complain about being flooded.

The only thing that saved Houston five years ago was the below ground freeways which flooded, 59.45, and I-10.

Also all the underground tunnels downtown, it took a month to pump out the water from the tunnel system.

Good gods. What's going on with home prices anyway? :shrug:

I have a nice day off today, I am just hanging in front of the TV and watch the French Open :popcorn:

The event this weekend here in Frankfurt because of the World Cup was a blast. That light show was amazing. Here are a couple of pics. I have them from the Internet as I didn't take any myself. There were hundred thousands of people there.

for $20-$40 cheaper at the office supply stores. Our first camera, a Sony Cybershot that pooped out on me, was bought at Best Buy. Stock up on memory cards and photo paper at Best Buy! :D

I just checked Best Buy's website and I didn't see the A60 at all. Staples didn't have it either. Is it an older model?

Glad you had a chance to meet AirmansMom and Harley Dad. AM seems very nice. And I can't imagine traveling with four cats.

I called in sick Friday, just because I needed some down time, and Saturday was pretty much a wash. Did some major cocooning, but I think I just needed some time to myself. So you can imagine that yesterday was catch-up time, but that's okay. I feel rejuvenated for the week, and it's the end result that counts.

Oh, sad about your pics not turning out. I just got a new camera at work, it's a Canon too, but I can't remember the rest of it. Very nice, but it's around $500. Don't know if you want to go that high price wise that is. Still haven't figured out all the bells and whitles yet, ugh!

I'm SO glad we got a chance to meet too! It was such a fun time! We ALL need down time sometimes, so I'm glad ou got a chance to have some. :hug: I don't really want to spend THAT much on a camera. I can't afford to let that much go. I don't take enough photos to warrent that expensive a camera.

you mean. I myself am coveting a digital, but right now I can't seem to justify buying one. I still like my old Canon ES (print camera).

I guess I could use that money on something else and just use that old camera! It takes great pictures!

I think that AirmensMom and HarleyDad are the cutest couple. I really enjoyed having supper with them before they said goodbye to their old Florida home. I owe her a PM since I've been off DU since early last week.

I'm back home and starting to think about how much less I want to pack for my next big trip. I was shopping in the Keys and FedEx-ed a box of clothes home because my suitcase wouldn't have accommodated everything. It'll be much cooler the next time I'll be in Fort Lauderdale. I'm very happy I made the trip last week. :)

Sorry to hear about those non-pictures, mate - that just sucks. As for cameras, I have NO idea - I have to buy myself a new one, but I'm just looking for a good price and a compact-size one that'll fit into my shirt pocket. Nothing flash, but one that'll do the job.

Paying bills this evening - car registration, insurance, phone bill, internet connection, tax agent - all due at once. Baked beans and spaghetti for me for a while !!!!:rofl:

I love this place - (even though I almost never post). I'm currently on Jury Duty but since DU is blocked at work I was actually looking forward to today so that I can satiate my DU craving. Anyway sorry for saying good morning so late but there were about 50 of the dumbest questions one could imagine that needed to be asked before we could be done with orientation. Anyway, hope everyone has had a great morning so far and has a great rest of the day.

Oh by the way, there's a TV here, someone tuned it to Faux News. That lasted about 4 seconds. Sorry freeptards, not near me.
