Awaiting prognosis-Rhonda the honda might be dying!

My beloved white honda civic hatchback - broke down and had to be towed. Its now in the shop 100mi away where they are diagnosing. All they know so far is all the oil inexplicably is gone and engine is toast. But does that mean nothing can be done-- dont know, waiting to find out. It does run apparently but very poorly. The worst thing is knowing I mightve prevented it by CHECKING THE OIL BEFORE I LEFT -- although to lose all oil in a 2 month period seems kind of strange.

Poor old car! :cry:

Anyone know if there is any hope at all? If engine is dead-- can they perform an engine transplant? At what cost I wonder....
