I feel like running away, any one else want to join me?
Right now I want to be sitting at a bar at some obscure tropical island with some Jimmy Buffett tunes playing on a turntable sipping anything that has about ten shots in it.

Here's the rant. Husband is away for the week on a business trip. I am in charge of the two teenagers. Daughter's graduation is Sunday. Husband's family is coming up Friday, offered to house them at camp or at the hotel, bitchy sil refused, is staying at our house, no ifs, ands or buts. Trying to clean all day, daughter does not like sil, refuses to help. Daughter is also in tears that softball playoff game may be Saturday, same time as her grad party, where we have invited about 50. Son has 10 boys playing poker downstairs right now. I just cleaned the cellar. Husband's family is definitely here to see how bad the house is, not to visit. Just washed the bare wood floors, dog threw up in the entryway when he smelt the Pine Sol. My hands are raw from my seasonal hives and putting them in any more water is probably going to kill me.

Parent/teacher conferences for my mother in the nursing home is tomorrow. Two hour round trip. Got to go because they tend to take better care of her when I show up at these every two weeks.

Just swapped our web site and email system to a dedicated server. Lost the web site for a while (a nine hour download) Asian office is still having problems with their email.

And....Bush is still president...
No need to reply to this particular rant, we all know they are therapeutic. But if you want to rant about your problems and run away with me.....go for it.

3. Thanks guys! What should we drink?
Something with rum? I know things aren't that bad for me as compared to others, but it is just so soul cleansing writing it down. Thanks for your response!

7. I live on an obscure tropical Island where J.B. is on the radio all day
and night.

MY HUSBAND is away for the week as well.

We manage a time share resort here in the Keys.

Last week a batch of our owner's kids (the little darlings) threw seven of our bikes (we give bikes out to our guests to ride) in our on site lagoon. They also threw several golf clubs (we have a miniature golf course on property into the lagoon. The owners were up in arms proclaiming that we should charge them triple...I'm talking about the parents of the very kids who did the damage. But of course, their darlings were only guilty because they "got in with the wrong crowd" of kids from another unit.

This week we have another batch of owners. Today I found out that over the weekend the kids were partying at the pool until three a.m., throwing patio furniture into the pool, cussing, swearing and playing music at the highest volume a radio is programmed to go.

Welcome to my world. If you would like, I will swap out with you until our husbands return.

And P.S. My daughter works at the resort with us, but she and her family are out of town on vacation as well (so no help there), and I am running to their house to feed their cat and water the plants and pick up the mail as well.

AND...it is almost ninety degrees and 100% humidity, so when you dream about those Tequila Sunrises, don't even think about it until after dark, and then have lots of OFF spray handy. :)

8. Tropical Island? Bar? Nutz to THAT! We really ought to head
NORTH. To Alaska and make our fortunes working for a couple of seasons CRAAAAAB fishing in the Bearing sea. Then we can blow part our earnings in a weekend of bar hopping (and BRAWLING) in anchorage.

Just think of the freedom. Open seas, and the last Frontier towns left on the continent.

9. scuse me Leeroy...have you ever watched the Discovery Channel?
Those crabbing dudes fly off the back deck of those icy fishing boats faster than June bugs off a newly waxed Mercedes.

Scary Chit, man!

10. I'm there. Leave the office behind! Get out doors and
be a "MANLY MAN" and all that. Smoke cigarettes, drink too much, grow a beard, get frostbite, eat too much red meat, swear in polite company etc...

Yep I watch that show all the time. Sometimes I catch myself getting positively WISTFUL...

Fuck the in-laws. If they're as bitchy as you make them out to be they're going to complain no matter how nice you make the place look.

Time to hit the tequila.

And I would have replied sooner, but my f'in internet system crashed that night....

Am making headway on the housework, am feeling a little better. Work still isn't going well, but my kids are behaving better because every time they look at me sideways I burst into tears.
