We all have to share the streets, unfortunately. I was almost killed three times today by people making the worst moving violations I've ever seen ignorant schleps make in this sad, sorry suburbia. I am so angry I could just spit. Bad driving kills. If you don't know how, you should learn. If you can't learn, don't drive.

1. Something must have been going on today.
I had three people today just totally ignore that I had the right of way, and make left turns in front of me. I had much horn usage today.

2. Yes indeed
For the last 2 days I've been unlucky enough to get behind "that guy". You know, the person who merges (I use that term loosely, as it typically describes the legal changing of lanes) without a turn signal and without checking any rearview mirrors. What's particularly disturbing is that both days, "that guy" and the traffic around him was going about 80mph on a 5 lane freeway...and each time, "that guy" nearly took out a car that would have been clearly visible had he bothered to look.

5. You just described part of the problem
maybe without knowing it.

You can't rely on mirrors alone; they have blind spots. You've gotta turn your head.

This was drilled into us in driver's ed, but I don't see many people doing it anymore.

6. This is true
although these 2 people weren't doing either. No head movement AT ALL. And of course, they were switching lanes with gusto...you know the type: this lane's not moving fast enough for me, so I'm going over here. Oh wait, that car pulled ahead by a tire length, I gotta get back over there...

...all in heavy-but-still-going-80mph traffic.

Doh.

3. I Know What You Mean
A lot of bad driver's out and they risk not just their own lives but the lives of others. It's just not right. I don't know why they don't make it harder to get a driver's license. I've been saying that for years.

4. The other night three people made lefts from the right hand lane in front
of me. I think it's summer that makes people feel invincible and drive like maniacs.
