Ughhn! My car battery is dead.
I went outside and I heard a "ticktickticktick" sound coming from my van. It sounded like the turn signal, but I couldn't shut it off. I went inside and got my keys, and low and behold, nothing would turn on. I did note, however, that my headlights were in the "on" position. :eyes: That's a bit wierd, since I only drove my car this afternoon, and never even turned them on. At the same time, my neighbor across the street was out in the road jump-starting his r.v, because it was dead, too. wtf?

1. Lara, I changed mine all by myself this year!
Actually, a friend told me exactly how to do it, but I did it nonetheless. RV could have just been sitting there too long.

Get a jump and see if that "re-charges" the battery. If it won't start again, new battery for sure. Easy, inexpensive fix. Could be worse!

3. I think I'll make my husband do it in the morning.
It's too damn late to go mess with it, now. I think I have a newer battery, at least, so hopefully a jump will do it. It was really dead; the headlights wouldn't even blink on.

2. You ought to pick up a jump pack.
They are relatively inexpensive, and (assuming that the MN in your SN is for Minnesota) is a good thing to have in the winter months. I picked one up on sale at Target for my wife two winter's ago, and she used it in an emergency situation at work one night, that right there paid for itself.

Not to mention the countless jumps we've given to folks who were stranded and in need.

Good luck with your car!

5. I think we had one of those, at one time.
I wonder if it's still around. I'll have to go dig through the garage, tomorrow.

4. Seriously?!?!?! That happened to me today, too!
Commiserations.

I was stranded in downtown Houston for four hours (:puke: - hate H-town, only went there to see Al Gore - so it was still worth it!). Ended up having to go to a Wal-Mart to get a new battery. Double :puke: :puke:

6. Ugh! At least I'm only "stranded" at home!
I don't have to be anywhere tomorrow, so it's not a big emergency, just a pita.
