Amazin' day in sports (SPOILERS WITHIN)
Edited on Wed Jun-14-06 10:21 PM by alcibiades_mystery
1) Germany-Poland - A killer game for the first round at the World Cup. Germany brought it hard all game, but was stymied by the combined efforts of the goal keeper Artur Boruc and (unheralded) defender Marcin BASZCZYNSKI. With 15 minutes left, Poland goes down a man, and the Germans brought it harder, with two shots touching off the crossbar and a number of spectacular saves by Boruc. Mets already had a 7-2 lead in the fourth when the delay was called again, but it was not to be. With the Tigers loss, the Mets currently have the best winning percentage in baseball. Amazin'...
