6. Your photos were beautiful, Peggy...
I loved the colors in the waves. (You know I was a California girl too from 1969-1975).

12. My dear Blue_In_AK!
Oh, I didn't know you were a California girl!

What part of CA did you live in?

We were down here in SoCal by then.....

Thanks for admiring my pics! It means a lot.....

13. I was in San Francisco
for 1969 and 1970, then to Bolinas in Marin County until 1974, except for a couple of months in a commune in Oregon and eight months in Seal Beach in 1971, and then a year in Forbestown up between Yuba City and Marysville in 1974-75. I moved to Alaska in May 1975 and have been here since.

21. Ah, Bolinas.
The town that tries to hide from the world! ... Does the sign still get taken down routinely?

22. We were there last spring and the sign wasn't.
The town has changed very little since the early '70s. I just love that place. I had some very happy (and high) times there.

9. Why did I do it?!
Why did I look in this thread I knew I'd regret it?

More beautiful pix of a place I very much want to go hiking and camping but not likely to get to for a long time at best.

Oh well...very nice pix thx for sharing.

Thanks for sharing :hi: My husband's going in August on the annual fishing trip with his poker buddies. Homer/Denali is all I can remember. He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES Alaska, maybe one year I'll go too.

14. Homer is where my husband and I were married
in 2003. It's a great little town and absolutely beautiful. My brother and his family live there.

16. Sad, isn't it?
By the way, if you all are interested in seeing more photos from our eight-day camping trip into the Interior, I've been doing kind of a running travelog in the PhotoGroup, posting a few pictures from each day. There are more to come, but sadly I have to get back to work now. :(

18. We went from Anchorage
to Fairbanks on the Glenn/Richardson Highways, out to Circle on the Steese, back to Fairbanks and the Chena Hot Springs Road, then back down to Anchorage on the Parks, with a little detour in on the Denali Highway at both ends. These particular photos were: 1) Matanuska Glacier; 2) Lake Louise (still frozen on June 3!); one of the Tangle Lakes on the Denali Highway; and the bottom two are on the Steese Highway on the way back from Circle.
