Skirt-wearing man accused of exposing himself at Fashion Bug

When the man with the briefcase and neat business attire asked to try on two skirts and a T-shirt with the words "Like my attitude or get lost" written across the chest, Toccara Stringfellow tried to be courteous and non-judgmental.

But when the same man came out of the women's dressing room wearing one of those skirts, shaking his hips and exposing his privates, Stringfellow -- an assistant manager at the Fashion Bug store on the South Side -- was not amused.

"When he showed me his penis, that's when I called my manager," Stringfellow said.

Stringfellow didn't know that Ruben Gonzalez, 52, of Chicago, has nine previous convictions for public indecency and is a registered sex offender.

On Wednesday, Cook County Judge Colleen Hyland set Gonzalez's bond at $80,000 for the latest incident, which allegedly occurred April 24 at the store, located in the 3100 block of South Ashland.
