I am listening to the new Dixie Chicks album
I bought it today. It isn't country or country rock. It's beautiful angry music. And it is us.


It's a sad sad story when a mother will teach her

1. Did we listen to the same album?
Angry? That album was one of the most docile sounding things I've ever listened to. I actually laughed when she said something about being "Mad as hell" because she sure as hell didn't sound it. Maybe the lyrics are angry, but the music itself, at least to me, sounded anything but.

And, really, I prefer intelligible screaming in my music anyway. So I guess I'm not that hardcore :(

11. What does screaming have to do with the subtlety of the lyrics?
Or did you mean vocals? Anger can be heard easily in unscreamed vocals just as well as it can in screamed vocals. Like I said, the lyrics might be angry, but the vocals just don't sound angry to me, and it's not because they aren't screamed.

I've read interviews with the Chicks and caught a little bit of them on Howard Stern and they're OK by me, I just don't like the genre they are most readily ascribed to (country)

And I disagree with all of the hyperbole you are heaping on their new album.

Oh, and for some bizarre reason you brought metal into this. And screaming vocals.

I mainly listen to punk if that actually matters.

I saw hem on the Today show, I bought "Not ready to make nice" as a download and then got hooked and bought the cd on the way home today.

And for those who do not like their music, I've been an acid rocker since the 60's and am into power pop now, don't crack my music just because you hate it. This isn't the fucking RNC so buzz off. I like them, and I like Pink too so piss off.

YEAH.
