Nice, sweet, sugar coated, ballads done by heavy metal bands
In the mid to late 80's it seemed like every hard rock, heavy or acid metal band felt like they had to do a Celine Dion-Titanic song, whiny, tears in my eyes, I miss you so bad type love song.

I thought they all sucked!

2. Hair metal sucked, period.
Ballads and up-tempo numbers.

4. Damn straight
This is what happens when metal acts don't ask themselves if Slayer or Black Sabbath would have done it. Ozzy, doing a duet with Lita Ford? I don't think Tony Iommi would approve of "Close My Eyes Forever." Would Kerry King have played a douchbag song like "Home Sweet Home?" Hell, no. Perhaps Slayer and Sabbath are good bearings for one's moral compass.

Can't think of a good one at the moment.

on edit: okay, "More Than words" was pretty damned good. Sappy, but incrdible harmonies.

7. Oh. come on now. Don't be so cynical. Every rose has it's thorn.
I don't like these kinds of posts.

8. I'll lighten up only when....
Heavy metal bands quit singing or playing "Julie Andrews", "Celine Dion" or "Barbara Streisand" type songs and people like Pat Boone quit singing "Enter Sandman".

9. "Something to Believe In"
I can't even remember who did that song (Cinderella, maybe?), but I certainly remember my uncontrollable vomiting whenever it was played.

11. Slade, ca 1972
covered John Sebastian's "My Darling Be Home Soon", the one sort of quiet moment in their show. I think we can all blame that skinhead band for future hair band excesses. their version didn't suck too much because by the end it was as loud as all their other stuff.
