A lack of clarification in a post of mine led to its deletion, and a couple of responses that, in the original context, made full sense. It was my fault for not adding in proper clarification at the time. Big-time.

And I'll try to use the :sarcasm: emoticon in all further posts where I am being sarcastic toward the callous.

Because it wasn't terribly obvious from your post that you were being sarcastic. As much as I adore you, I'm afraid I assumed you were feeling somewhat fatalistic and seriously advocating suicide.

I was. And I was so consumed in my own emotion to have not stepped back to clarify things properly the first time.

And, indeed, being so precise in my reference may not have been bright either - in retrospect, for the reference alone, deleting it was warranted.

makes no sense, in any context. It was unacceptable, and therefore worth deletion.

I agree that posting the reference, regardless of consequences, was utterly stupid. I too am glad it was deleted; I didn't need to put in the reference, regardless of context. Someone may have taken it to heart too.

Of course, for people to say "drop the person" or whatever is extremely crass and hurtful too - AND might lead the dropee to kill themselves anyway.

Having been in a position that lady is in, for someone to say "drop me" really does hurt. And I have been suicidal before.

In short, I'm not the only one who needs to take care when responding to others' relationship troubles. Summarily advocating ditching the person like that one fella had is just as bad, if not worse. People really can get hurt.
