Has this ever happened to you before?
Let me describe the scene:

I live in the city, in a row home. Anyway, I decide that I'm going to put in the air conditioner today in our bedroom but first I have to peel off some silicone insulation I had around the window that I wanted to put the ac in.

Easy enough.

I go out an open window but realized I'd need a little knife to pick at it so I went back inside. Suddenly my wife screams. It seems our black lab(6 months old--got her at an animal shelter a couple months ago) jumps out the window.

Fortunately there is a porch roof there for her to land on but she's perilously close to the edge. I coax her back and slowly climb out the window to help her inside.

And then she decideds to run down the porch roofs!

There I am, standing and calling my dog who is running across the porch roofs like a thief in the night and all I can do is watch in stunned horror.

Finally she turns around and runs back to me, her tongue wagging in the heat but not scared at all. Actually seeming to...well, like it.

Cars were stopping to look so I didn't want to play chase with her outside the neighbor's windows. Not sure how that would have went over. So when she got close enough I grabbed her collar and wrestled her back into the window. Then she barked at me for spoiling the fun.

I can't imagine what the neighbors might have thought(a little kid telling his mom a dog had just run past the second story window). Uggh.

Worse, if she would have had a potty call on a neighbors roof I would have had to walk over and scoop it up, all the while hoping I wouldn't have to explain to the neighbor why I chose to let my dog do its business on his roof.

Truly a bizzare scene.

At least she's okay.

No more open windows for her.:)

2. A very funny story.
But I'd worry about that dog's fearlessness. :D

3. Ha! Puppies must be watched at all times.
Especially labs. :D

They will get themselves in the silliest situations.

4. Yoinks that's great!
Never had a doggie do that, but when we lived on a lake one of our cats (not the sharpest claw on the paw) jumped in to get at the ducks. Luckily it was high summer so the water level was pretty low in our cove. Mr. MorningGlow hauled her out and she grrred at the ducks. Their fault, apparently!

Sometimes the fuzzballs just don't quite think first...!

They do make for great pet tales, though!
