1. Ask your vet for a pill shooter.

Work like magic. Or ask him to show you how to administer it as a shot.

I'd much rather give the cat a shot than a pill. It's easier, quicker and safer.

One of my three dogs hates pills almost as much as I hate shoving them down her throat. So I have the pharmacist put it into liquid form. She'll take a spoonful of gravy any day. A pill - not so much.

I have a psychotic evil cat. But I'm the only one here who isn't terribly afraid of her so giving her pills is my job.

You have to hold his head, and put your fingers just behind his jaw bone,and if you squeeze a little his mouth will open, then pop in the pill and quickly force his mouth closed. Hold it closed and watch his throat till you see him swallow it.

Then run!

5. I do this too and right now I have two cats taking pills. One is better

about it than the other. The bigger the pill, the harder it is to get them to take it. The trick is to get it far enough back in their throat. Also---I usually really, really pet my cats forst to get them to relax some.
