TGIF!!! What are your weekend plans?
I actually have an entire weekend off (with the exception of tonight, that is) and my plans in place.

Tomorrow I'm going cycling before it gets beastly hot and then off to a barbecue at my sister's where we'll have a great time with friends I have known for more than 20 years.

Sunday morning is my Yoga in the Park class (if I don't enjoy myself too much Saturday), then making a nice breakfast. In the afternoon, we'll head up to Chicago for a classical concert at Millenium Park and then just enjoy the city.

I can't wait for it all to begin! :bounce:

What will you be doing this weekend?

1. Tonight I'm seeing a friend I haven't seen in a really long time.
And tomorrow...my husband gets home from his two-week long business trip! It's the longest we've been apart since we met 9 years ago.

Enjoy your weekend!

:hi:

3. Severe thunderstorm approaching...
If I had someone, we'd be cuddling right now.

As I'm an eternally single loser freak, I'll probably just go out and drink.

And ponder the want ads too.

5. It's Pride weekend here in Portland, OR.
Edited on Fri Jun-16-06 07:03 PM by swag
Might go see the Dyke March tomorrow night, which is always good, and if visiting Seattlites are up for it. (By the way, if you're a Portland dyke, the best party tomorrow night will be at Zaytoon at 2236 NE Alberta St. The cover is kind of steep, but the party will be a killer. I won't be there, unfortunately for me, because I'm not a lesbian. But tell Aysha that I sent you and that I deserve a complimentary mezza for telling you to go to her party).

If you want to go that dumb old hokey party at the ER instead, I won't stop you.

Sunday will go to the Portland Pride Parade. You will find me in front of Embers, very near the reviewing stand of Miss Poison Waters.

7. I'm going to take my Gospel of the FSM
and convert the heathen to the one true faith, and eat some spag boll.

Of course the evil liberals with their homo-atheist agenda deny that the U.S. was founded on Pastafarian lines. But let us examine the EVIDENCE:

1. The U.S. was founded in 1776, during the age of PIRATES
2. Most of the Founding Fathers are believed to have liked PASTA
3. FSM scripture says that He interferes with events with His noodly appendage, meaning that the FSM must have caused the Revolutionary War
4. Pasta is tasty culinary perfection. Perfection could only be an attribute of a deity, since a deity is the only concept that could achieve perfection. The closest proposed divine being to link pasta and the divine is the FSM. Therefore if a deity exists, it must be the FSM.

8. Tonight: Wait nervously for a text message re: the tiny airplane landing
safely.

Tomorrow: Ravinia Festival (Garrison Keillor is broadcasting live from there) with J, kiddo, and J's late mom's husband (stepfather, I guess) and his GF.

Sunday: Father's Day in Milwaukee with my parents. Hope like hell the restaurant is A) Air conditioned and B) as kid-friendly as they claim to be.

14. Who's in a tiny plane?
Hearing Keillor live sounds great, but Ravinia gets on my nerves with all of its white-washed, hoighty-toighty social climbing.

Millenium Park seems to bring together people from all racial and economic groups much better -- well, probably because the events are free.

28. J and kiddo (were) in the tiny plane -- they landed a bit ago and are on
their way home. (J's friend is a hobby pilot, and he wanted to get some flying time in, so it was a quick hop to Madison and back.)

Yeah, as for Ravinia -- I wouldn't have picked that particular venue myself, but we got invited so we'll go. I grew up in the area, and I'm used to the social climbers ('course, I'm glad I don't live there anymore). I'm packing a nice picnic, at least.

Milwaukee has Jazz in the Park every Thursday in the summer, and it sounds similar to the Millenium Park events.

10. Tomorrow is grocery store, laundry and cleaning....
Lunch at an Irish bar in town (this town of chock full of Irish bars...lots of Guinness flowing all over the place).

Sunday, I am going with the family to Arlington Park for family day with the triplets and to see the races. I am kind of excited, since I never never been there.

My :loveya: has been instructing me on how to pick horses that might actually win...so I may get something for my $2 bets.

For instance, I'm going to expose her to a live performance of Carmina Burana this weekend. That should convince her to cook me a steak, at the very least.

Edited on Fri Jun-16-06 08:06 PM by cmf
Actually, H is painting, I'm taking pictures of things to put on Ebay and taking a DU break. We're going out for Thai food with some friends later.

Tomorrow, more painting, a trip to the farmer's market, and possibly the grocery store. Tomorrow night, we are having over H's friend who recently moved to town and his new wife.

Sunday more household stuff. We've got to put this place up for sale soon, so we're getting it in listing shape.

30. Getting shitfaced.
Tommorrow is my sister's HS graduation party. I'll be the one making mojitos. It'll be fun. My sisters and I are all partiers. It starts at two, so I'll be drunk by four. Liver damage will probably continue into the night. I plan on throwing my sister into the pool at some point as her graduation gift.
