Curse you, Dwayne Wade!!!
For possibly being the best damn basketball player I've EVER seen, possibly even including my all time faves Magic Johnson and MJ!

Curse you!

1. If you call that garbage the NBA feed us "basketball"
it's more like WWF or roller derby.

2. Now it's theoretically a 50/50 series
Edited on Mon Jun-19-06 12:09 AM by Awsi Dooger
Dallas is basically a 2/1 favorite in both games at home, based on win probability related to pointspread.

I'm a Heat fan but I still like Dallas to win it. The road team probably can make only one stand among the two games. The other one they get blown out. So the Heat need to decide whether they contest game 6 or game 7.

It's probably a better idea to challenge game 6, now that you have the supposed momentum with 3 straight wins. Home teams inevitably win game 7, like the Spurs last year. This series is very reminiscent of Knicks/Houston in '94, Pat Riley's last trip to the finals. John Starks missed a 3 pointer that would have won game 6 and the championship for the Knicks in game 6, then Houston won big in game 7.

My forecast for today was accurate, other than OT. I wrote it was a very tough game to call, since Dallas would rebound with a big effort, and the Heat would be held to a point total in the 80s or low 90s. That held up until OT.

The simple forecast would have been if Dallas had won this game. The Mavericks would have destroyed the Heat start to finish in game 6. No way Miami could have responded after losing a game like this on their home court.

I was rooting for the Heat, but realizing a Dallas win would have set up a simple betting opportunity for me in game 6.

3. I just can't believe Wade is so freaking unstoppable. He has about
the most unstoppable offensive game I can remember. Shaq-fu and ANY center is a LOT easier to stop, they are less mobile, so just double team quick.

This guy can seem to always maneuver a bit of separation and has such great body control in the air. And it helps that he is sticking his outside shot in a big way too, and can hit free throws. Sheesh.

Magic had about a billion All-Stars to dish off to, and his own offense was secondary. This guy is just unreal, and doing it over multiple games in the finals, too...

I agree with your toss up scenario. At least it's a legitmately good series. If Dallas wants to take it, they will have to earn it, that's for sure!

6. I'm
in the same boat there. I have been a life long sonics fan, and I am rootin for the Heat, solely because of Gary Payton...:)

10. I wish Alonzo a severe groin pull. I loathe him. When he pumps

his muscle and points to his biceps, I want to projectile vomit. He shafted the Nets who in good faith, took a big chance on him, post surgery by giving him 22 mil. guaranteed, only to have him retire "due to illness" But lo and behold (or maybe Zo and behold) he resurface two deals later, back on the Heat, living proof that illness does not necessarily build character. Zo is gutless and never scraps with anyone who can kick his ass.

4. That phantom OT foul called on Dirk was total bullshit. They gave Miami
the game. Dirk did not touch him. No one ever gets that call in a crunchtime finals OT. No one.

7. thats what I was thinking
Although he probably was fouled way before he got to Dirk. And then that timeout called after the 1st free throw? The last few seconds were very messed up.

11. Did you watch the replays?
Wade was clearly fouled on the play. Harris blatantly grabbed his arm on the way up. Freethrows justified, foul attributed to wrong guy. In the end it makes no difference who got the foul. No one fouled out and the Mavs can't stop Wade.
