What does "dressy casual" mean?
I'm going to my wife's high-school reunion party, and the dress code is "dressy casual." What does that mean, specifically for men? Is it like "business casual"? No jeans and sneakers, obviously, but can I wear a nice polo shirt?

1. I would think dressy casual could mean a nice polo, with slacks or
khakis, and a nice sport coat. Dress socks and loafers would round out the outfit.

I used to sell men's tailored clothing. Ask me anything if you think it will help. :-)

4. A polo and dress-shirt-no-tie are both appropriate "dressy casual"
options.

5. "Dressy casual" is now what used to be called "preppy"
Anything that would be OK at the country club or the yachting club is considered dressy casual. and ties are for anything after 5pm.

Polo shirts, Izods, chinos, etc. loafers but no tennis shoes and no denim.

10. Always better to go overdressed than underdressed...
especially to a high school reunion. You'll look more successful than everyone else.

I'd avoid suits, but I'd go with slacks and a sport jacket, tie optional.

20. Polo shirt AND tie? Who ton earth wears THAT?
Ties go with business/dress shirts only. Polo shirts are meant to be worn without ties. As are a lot of dressy shirts.

22. Kilt, Doc Martens, striped high-rise tube socks, "I'm With Stupid" tee
oh, and always best to carry an inflatable sheep under one arm. You HAVE to know how to accessorize!

If you can pull off a beret, even better.
