Have you been watching "The Drug Years?"

It's a four part documentary on drugs, the drug culture, the war on drugs, etc. They've been airing it on VH1 and one or two other cable channels.

It's a suprisingly good documentary (considering it's on VH1). They've got lots of interesting experts, former politicians, former users, etc.

And they've got this one woman on their, I guess so that people can't say their taking sides. But she's one of these out-dated drug warriors from the eighties, some kind of hideous Laura Bush-wannabe who just sits their and, contradicting everything everybody else is saying, goes on about how the War on Drugs is saving our children and how Ronald Reagan did such a good job fighting drugs, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Makes me wish I could reach into the TV and slap her right on her smarmy little face.

He's a libertarian type and ex-stoner of the 70's so we pretty much agree on things when it comes to drug policy. We were basically blown away by all the money wasted by the government fighting the "war" on drugs. Drugs are for the most part bad, don't get me wrong but I get angry when I think about all the lives that have been ruined because (legal bills, reposition, loss of job, etc...) they were busted for something like pot possession. I think this country will be much better off when we have a sane drug policy like they have in the Netherlands, hell I think this country would be much better off if we could just have a national DISCUSSION about a sane drug policy. I hope it happens some day but unfortunately Nancy Reagan brainwashed a lot of soccer moms.

It's funny you mention that woman, the first time she appeared on this documentary, my dad commented "wow, she looks like a real bitch!"...lol...we had a good laugh at that one
