2. Ah, but there's the rub
German to English translations are sometimes
a bit iffy. Hitler was a master politician, and
had a very firm command of the German language.

3. No way did all those dependent clauses make sense in any language!!
I've heard that Hitler's German was pretty impenetrable, too, and full of mixed metaphors.
